Just listen to Rubber Soul and Revolver back to back.
Case closed. So far ahead of their time...

Listen to any of their albums. They really didn't make a bad album.

We have a master thread for this, but I'll allow it.

Preach!
Their evolution in 7 years was astounding

No, they were all four extremely talented musicians.

Pretty remarkable little band. Never before, never again.

Yeah, as someone who grew up when they were already dominating oldies radio and classic rock, it's pretty amazing to think about what a short time period they did all their recording in.
From the 80's on, 7 years became the amount of time you might wait for your favorite band to put out another album only to be disappointed.

Never before and never again. Each album equal to most bands' Greatest Hits issues, and after the breakup, songs from their solo releases could have made five more albums as good as any of their Beatles releases. And at the time, singles were preferable to album songs, so dozens of their most popular singles weren't on albums now considered classics.
What they did is really not possible, but here we are.

There’s probably this very same thread on each page of this forum.
Going back to the beginning of time.

The Beatles peaked during the stretch of the We Can Work It Out/Day Tripper double A single, Rubber Soul, Revolver, and the Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever double A side single. Fall of 65 to Spring of 67.

The reality is, if you immerse yourself in the catalogue, over time, you can never do more than say "well, TODAY, my favorite Beatles song/album is...".
For me, presently, Help and before is where I'm sitting. Dismissiveness of the "early stuff" is crazy.

I just love this performance here, even though they were having issues with each other by this time they still looked like they were really enjoying playing together

Not sure they ever "peaked". They were always excellent. Their writing became more proficient, but they stayed consistent.
Pure perfection

Abbey Road is when George peaked. John and Paul, not even close.

One crazy thing to think about The Beatles is, despite being so identified with the 60s, they essentially gave the 70s permission to start:
She's So Heavy - prog rock
Come Together - cool jazz
Don't Let Me Down and The Long and Winding Road - gave the 70s its sound
