They are totally different types of running backs.

Don’t want a running back in the first. Woukd be the absolute worse pick we could make.

I love Etienne. He’s a very good back with great vision. Hes not the same athlete

Getting a RB/WR combo like we had with Kamara is worth the eighth pick.

I'd rather a Manning/Brees combo.

Didn’t you also not want a QB in the 2nd last draft, or am I thinking of someone else?

They both play the RB position. That is their closest comp

I think they have some similarities. Love is a more creative runner I think. Etienne is a bit more of a one-cut slasher

I did not. I wanted a de which is still our biggest need. The year before I wanted cooper Dejean in the 2nd who was just named to the all pro team…

Quarterback was our biggest need and DE is not our biggest need whatsoever with Chase Young, Grando and Cam

Then why does everyone want a de with our first pick? Cam is closing in on 40, and is a free agent. I like Granderson, but he was MIA outside a few games this year.

I preferred us to bottom out, bring the teams talent level up, then get our qb.

It was widely accepted the incoming qb class was suppose to be much much better. Every top qb regressed or played poorly this year. Nuss, Klubnik, Allar, Manning. All were viewed as potential top 10 picks before the season started. No one could predict it playing out like it did.

I’m glad Shough worked out, qb is the single hardest position to scout and to obtain. The team still needs a lot more talent in numerous positions.

Positional value and available players at 8. We aren’t pigeon holed into having to take DE this year because Cam can give us another 1-2 years if we need it. WR is a bigger need but I don’t think the available players are worthy

So your plan was to intentionally tank and NOT select a franchise QB at 40? Just roll out Rattler with no other options to develop?

Nothing precluded us from picking a QB in ‘26 even if Shough didn’t work out

Exactly why you were completely wrong to argue so adamantly against Shough in favor of other players

Not that college stats mean a ton, but I went back and looked at etienne. He put up some monster numbers at Clemson.
