SIAP

This was the first game playing of his career. USC let him take over the entire 2nd half in a blowout win over Missouri State. Watching this, he reminds me of the guys Lane has been eying in the portal (Demond, Landen Clark, Trinidad). Right at 6 feet tall, super quick, gets the ball out in a hurry. Here were his stats from this game:

9/9, 69 yards (nice), 1 TD, 1 sack for -5
7 carries for 59 yards, 2 TDs

It feels like this actually may be the guy.

Next year was always going to be a transition year rather than a real title contention one anyways… i dont hate it.

Would be an awesome pick up. Great QB who can develop under Kiffin and Weis. Im still thinking he goes to Oregon.

He can definitely take a hit. Not scared to fight for first down yardage. Can really run the ball. JD5-2.0?

Would not hate it. The kid spent a year under the tutelage of Lincoln Riley so he should have a jump start in learning the mental aspects of the QB position. And his elite mobility will still make the offense dangerous even if the young man takes a while to develop as a passer. The fact that the OL is still a giant ?, makes that kind of mobility even more valuable.

I say make it happen. Have him, Clark and another affordable QB duke it out for the starting job.

He left because he didn't want to sit out another year at USC. Doubt he goes to Oregon to sit out again under Moore (unless Moore goes pro but good possibility he may stay) Pull for Indiana!

Him & Chambliss look VERY similar in playstyle. First look at him, but I like what I saw.

I realize that was only 1 game but I saw really nothing sensational out of that almost 3 minute video. He didn't even try a long pass. Thanks, but I put Landen Clark from Elon above this guy unless Longstreet comes out with a lot more video a lot more sensational that his one against Missouri State.

This was the first college action of his life. If given the keys to an offense (especially Kiffin's), I'm more than certain he would press the ball downfield. He's still very young and is at minimum an exciting prospect.

We need both anyway so let them duel it out for the starting job next season. Both have incredible potential.

that's what I was thinking. No sliding two yards short.

Gave me some JD5 vibes as well.

Eesh idk.

not only is he TINY but he has a really long throwing motion. At least tiny Clark from Elon has a compact motion and an absolute cannon.

Im sure he can be coached up. Realistically I think any QB would be successful with Lanes system, just dont think he’d be my first choice

I wasn't clear in my comment. I did NOT mean to say he isn't worth a scholarship, some NIL, etc. What I meant was I certainly saw nothing in that video that made we think he was ready to be an immediate answer to starting QB. LSU needs an immediate answer to be starting QB. Landen Clark would qualify IMO, Longstreet would not. I do approve of your word prospect which accidentally might agree with my opinion...prospect, not walk in SEC starter capable.

I’m not sure how you could say this either. Dude was extremely sought after and going into his second here. Is it a given? Of course not as he’s pretty unproven. But he obviously has a lot of tools where I wouldn’t be surprised if he would come in and be pretty serviceable.

I didn't say he wasn't worth a scholarship. I do believe that the Elon QB Landen Clark is way ahead of him at this time. Being "sought after" as we all know out of HS is not really much of a factor. How many QBs, OL, CBs, WRs, and Edge rushers are 5* out of HS and rated 3* a year or two later. Just check the current transfer portal and you see that is very true. I will say I'm only judging him on the minutes of highlights from the Missouri State game. But since those are "highlights", I assume those were his best plays. As I said before, I saw nothing approaching sensational at all from that game.

It would be perfect. Then by year 2, he’s experienced and ready to go. Lane will have had more time to build. This would be a solid situation for everyone.
