I know not very long ago people were nervous that the US did not have anything comparable to Russia’s new hypersonic missile but not surprisingly turns out we do with successful tests in 2025.

I’m sure military savvy folks already knew but I don’t feel like this was common knowledge at the time

I mean really? Come on guys. The US Military is stringing along its own people. They are unmatched in what they do I have to hand it to them.

I remember in 2001 China was about to take over the tech world and here we are.

This isn’t a new development. Been public info for a few years now.

Did you really think Russia with their 80 billion defense budget and Cold War era tech beat us to the punch on anything?

Airline pilot reported seeing a Cylindrical Object”in New Mexico in 2024 or 2025, remember. ATC saw nothing.

No one ever explained what it was. It was clearly classified missile testing.

What if, hypothetically, I told you, hypothetically, that we have hypothetically had them since I was in the Navy

I got out in 03

I will entertain no follow ups

I’d feel better knowing the US had a reliable method of intercepting them.

The ones that had a ~100% failure rate in Ukraine?

If you put two and two together, you realize we do have hypersonics and have for some time. We’ve been testing our own missile defense systems against them if you dig into publicly available information on aegis.

When people question us tech, I remind them the earliest prototype of the SR-22 came out in 1959.

The true capabilities aren’t publicly known.

If we could fly humans at Mach 3+ in the early 60’s, what do you think we could do now.

Hypersonics aren’t new. It’s about what guidance they have that’s new.

The US has military capabilities far beyond the average citizen imagination.

These days people think they should have privy to everything the DOJ, Pentagon, CIA, etc...... have planned!!

It's comical and ridiculous at the same time..... many around here are guilty.
It's a fricking sad statement of our present citizenry mindset!!!
