If tweet fails to load, click here. Still has to pass the senate & 67 votes makes it veto proof
quote:
- The post details a 221-205 House vote on January 7, 2026, approving a discharge petition to force floor consideration of a Democratic bill extending enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies for three years, with nine moderate Republicans joining all Democrats despite GOP leadership opposition.
- These subsidies, enacted in 2021 to cap premiums at 8.5% of income, expire at year's end and cover about 20 million enrollees; without extension, CBO projects average annual premium hikes of $705 per person, potentially doubling costs in some markets and fueling voter backlash in competitive districts.
- The crossover votes highlight deepening Republican divisions, as moderates prioritize constituent health costs over Trump's long-standing Obamacare repeal agenda, echoing December 2025 tensions when four Republicans initially backed the petition.

It's only an average increase of $705 a year? That's what all the fuss is about? Pay your damned insurance premiums yourselves you cheapskates.

Your libertarians have done absolutely nothing about healthcare.
You guys like to bitch instead of convincing your colleagues and the voters on your policy.

It’s why the Republicans are full of shite on their criticism of the ACA. It’s all for show. They’ll never do anything about it. The ACA is a taxpayer subsidized cash cow for the insurance companies that squeezes the American middle class hard. And the Republicans are in on it because their pockets are greased by the insurance companies.

You honestly expect Congress to take time away from their child care and money laundering duties to do their jobs?

Imagine thinking Massie voted for this. He isn't a populist.

McShitStain campaigned for years on repealing Obamacare and when he had the chance to do so his TDS took over instead.

This is your freaking problem. Government should do nothing about it. Let it be dictated amongst private businesses and individuals like it was for decades. Go vote for Fetterman and keep pretending to be a conservative.
