My oldest kid just ordered one. HFS, seriously? What the hell is typical for this thing thats worn for like a year?

They’ve always been expensive, I mean it’s a custom leather jacket. You’re just seeing what inflation truly is.

The school bought them for us when I was there. Yeah, im old. I was expecting roughly half of what it was.
I searched for typical prices to try and decide if it was to yell at the school, my kid or my wife who went order it.
I understand senior pictures are way worse.
Its cool. I need to lose weight so we just wont eat this half of the year. shite, but the jacket wont fit then.

I mean you get a lot of use out of it, so it's worth the cost. I'm 40 and I still rock mine regularly. Perfect segway to get to talk about my athletic accolades.

I think I paid around $150 for each of my boys when they were in high school between 2008-2016. They wore theirs for four years. Technically it's just three years. I don't think they were allowed to order them until sometime near the end of the school year.

congrats to your oldest. remember being pumped when i got my letter jacket. wore mine for 2 yrs. i guess he or she will wear it thru senior year

Make sure you order “Who’s Who among American High School Students” too. Very prestigious and you’ll want to admire it and show it off for many years.

It’s a wool and leather jacket. It’s not cheap.
I lettered as a freshman so I wore it for 3.5 years. If they are a senior this year and it’s their first time lettering then I doubt it would be worth it.
And $500 doesn’t sound too bad. Our’s were $200 or so back in the late 90s.

Just get the basic one. They don’t wear them anyway. Senior rings are awesome as well!
