Curne was lazy, slow, and weak. He got physically dominated, not just beat, DOMINATED on every single snap he took. The stuff he put on film was objectively awful. He was such a liability against A&M that we were essentially playing with half the already terrible offensive line we had. There were so many protection shifts and RBs staying in to block against Arkansas as well that Curne may as well not even have gotten on the plane. Why on earth is there this meltdown over any of these linemen leaving??? Did any of you watch these games this year? He isn’t the first “5 star” to be terrible once he got to college and he certainly won’t be last, but good God. These guys were historically weak, lazy, and ineffectual. You could’ve put a school crossing guard out there in his spot and the results would’ve been the exact same.

Its extremely unlikely that every O lineman from last year was a bust. The problem was Brad Davis. Thank God he's gone.

I can't comment on his work ethic. I will say his most impressive moment was when he put out that video where he did a cheerleader like somersault. However, even to do that, he was running STRAIGHT! His problem that I saw at OT was his feet were molasses slow. Unless he improves dramatically, DEs will run right around him as they did this season. Maybe he can play OG, but OT...uh no!

Brad Davis AND S&C were huge issues to be sure. But the most telling thing was watching them stand around without a care in the world while their QB, RBs, and WRs got absolutely murdered on the nonstop screen plays we ran. They’re 3 yds down the field with their hands on their hips while 9 guys are piling up on our skill players. Some of that is coaching but that is an individual choice to be lazy and they simply didn’t give a shite. In Curne’s case it was a combination of lack of physical prowess and ability against college level competition AND laziness. That’s a very bad combination

Problem is he was playing out of position. Should’ve never been a tackle.

Didn’t he cry nonstop that he was a tackle? He isn’t strong or physical enough to play inside either, so where does that leave him? Guard, tackle, whatever, he gets pushed around by everyone. When Arkansas’s defense pushes you around then you have real problems and they did so with ease

Nailed it. He had the body and stremf as a guard and as a tackle he was overwhelmed. As a guard he could have excelled as a run blocker or stuffing a DT at the LOS.

Makes you wonder if he was doing it on purpose?

Why in the hell would have Curne got on a plane against Arkansas when we played them at home?

Glad we resigned Weston Davis though. He hasn’t done any of that

DUDE, One thing Curne is not is Weak.Hes probably the strongest guy on the offensive line and should have been used as a guard just to pave a highway for the running back. He's wasn't agile enought to be quick at Tackle and thats why he got beat sometimes.
You are going extremely overboard because we lost him,. The dude was a Freshman.

You sound like a high schoolboy whos girlfriend left him.. Gezzz

Davis was the worst lineman on the worst line in the country. He was all of those things PLUS penalties. No one, least of all me, is happy he’s back. This line and their coaches were team cancers that need to be completely cut out

Ok Ms Curne. Maybe you should’ve made him mow the lawn twice a week instead of just on sundays. Would’ve potentially made his feet somewhat less clumsy. And there are no such things as “freshman” anymore. He was a first year player, that much is true. And he was terrible and wasn’t worth an 1/8th of whatever we paid him to stand around or lay on his arse after getting dominated by actual college level players, even bad ones.

Agreed, people don't understand, a safety will get beat most of the time playing boundry corner, a cb will get get abused in the run game trying to playing safety. A kicker can punt and a punter can kick but no where near with the same level of sucess. Tackle and guard are night and day. Its no indication of his future success because he struggled at tackle as a true freshman against sec defensive ends that will be playing on Sundays.

Curne is a run of the mill above average OG.

I’d rather he wasn’t leaving. Don’t care that he is.

There’s 100 Carius Curnes out there and most without the attitude baggage.
