Not sure exactly what this is, but it looks awesome! Hugh Jackman in an A24 film gonna be good.

Does the embed feature not work anymore?
That trailer does look good though.

Jodie Comer as well? Might be worth a watch.

That actually looks pretty badass.

Another tale of a classic Hollywood and Medieval folk hero subverted and turned upside down? Yeah...no. I'm out.

It's not like Robin Hood hasn't been done 100,000 ways at this point.

Dang you beat me to it. Been looking forward to this one.

Robin Hood should inspire hope and optimism
The costume is too dark
Robin Hood never kills
Zach Snyder doesn't understand Robin Hood
God forbid this Robin Hood utters the name 'Martha'...

I know...it's almost like they should leave it alone and stop beating a dead horse with it. It also looks like the filmmakers watched Mr. Holmes with Ian McKellan and were like, "Let's do this with Robin Hood."

will watch, but I'll admit I'm pretty old-school when it comes to Robin Hood with my favorite version being the one with Errol Flynn

I assume that the Jodie Comer character will turn out to be Robin's daughter by Maid Marian.

Interesting. Hope it's good. I love the Robin Hood story but I haven't felt like we've had a proper great modern movie yet. I'd love to see a 3 part movie series of Robin Hood done proper. Give me a traditional Robin Hood figure and place him in a semi-historical world.

The 2010 film with Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett has been the closest thing to an "accurate" historical version that I'm aware of. I enjoyed it. Great actors, but I felt that aging up Robin and Marian into their 40's took something away from the story. There's currently a series on MGM+ that chronicles Robin's origins, his initial meeting with Maid Marian and the other outlaws, and the Sheriff of Nottingham. The leads are all in their early to mid 20's, except for the Sheriff. and it takes some serious liberties with the legend (race and gender swapping characters), but it's not a bad show.

It was also terribly bland and boring. The original script was so much more interesting in that it featured the Sheriff of Nottingham as the good guy. Robin Hood and his merry gang of outlaws were, much like the trailer featured above, accused of being violent brigands. However, the twist was that Nottingham was to apply genuine Medieval detective techniques to prove their innocence and to discover a conspiracy that ran miles deep.
Then Ridley Scott got involved with the project and did what he did.

Nah. Robin Hood is one of the few remaining oral traditions from that time that we have that's still alive and well known by the masses. We should keep those sorts of things going.
