It's professional sports now. I mean Tiger Stadium is bigger than the Superdome

You either pay up or get left behind. It's worse than pro sports right now with no collective bargaining agreement.

To be fair, I could rationalize paying college Tebow more than NFL Tebow.

Fun fact: almost no one said "wild wild west" before that tv show. Exclusively "the wild west" and now you never hear it any other way.

College football is a multi billion dollar industry. The money is there for someone to earn…

Yep. Players can get their cut now. It’s annoying all the jockeying for a bigger deal but damn these players are getting some honestly earned money. It’s so new and evolved from the conventional way but it was only a matter of time before the exploitation would end. It’s just gone too far the other direction now. Players hold all the power. Need to find a happy median and find some kind of way to cap it where it comes down to the school and not the money.

College football is also a very strange sport. There are a bunch of rich guys who are getting satisfaction to see their favorite college win. So they are not even thinking about it in terms of profit. They are just thinking about it in terms of fulfilling a goal of theirs since they were young to see their team win.

That’s why Chambliss wants that sixth year.

This is the NFL’s fault. Interesting that their players union might now keep players out of the draft, because of rules made to protect them.

Crazy times. Not sure I will care any more by the time the correction occurs.

If these players that are being paid big money invest their right, they could set themselves up for retirement at 21 years old. Most people in the work system at retirement will not have half of what they’re making in one year.

100%. It’s interesting when you think about it. For nfl owners, they look for a financial return on investment as well as wins. In college, the boosters just look for wins on their investment.
