Good luck even trying to find any type of lease in SFLA outside of entergy.
They are next to impossible to find.

So if you work at Entergy period you are eligible?

The one I’m referring to is the Entergy Nuclear Plant and I know the list to get into the club is very long . The only reason I know this is because we used to have a tract of land next to their club

I love the thought of it....I bet a wooden nickel it would produce more mature bucks.
I'd have to buy my hunters bows though lol

the new WMA in Washington parish is Bowhunt only. Nice woods. Not real crowded once rifle and duck season kicked off.

When we owned the land next to theirs , the deer population as well as size was amazing to see . Granted we were located next to theirs river so that helped , but it produced some studs to be had every year . We also met with the club manager and informed him that we would follow their rules in regards to size of deer we would take . The only difference was that besides bow , we would rifle hunt as well .
I didn’t need a lot of meat to fill my freezer for the year nor did my dad . I think we would take pretty much a doe or two and a buck a year

quote:if majority of wma/private were bow only the majority of the season the hunting would be exceptional. Not a secret that the best deer states are 1-2 buck tags only and less than 3 weeks of rifle hunting if that.

A vast majority of your deer were probably staying in your bow club.

We used to have bow hunting clubs scattered around the state back in the late 80's and 90's.

I know of a couple near Vicksburg that tried it for awhile. They couldn’t keep up with the doe quota, so they’ve gone back to rifles.

Big Rack has been a bow only club in Tensas for decades. You have to kill a doe before you kill a buck. It's not that hard to get baws to impale some does.

The opening day rifle sounds and kill reports were not promising.

I currently have this rule for all adults that hunt. That way some guest that will never come back can waltz onto our land and kill a Booner.
