Don’t matter-it’s Lane’s offense

Goodness gracious let us have him for at least a year .. Having a great coordinator is both a blessing and a curse. Because you know they won’t be around for long.

And they think dropping this news today will help deter any great players or quarterbacks from coming to LSU? The entire O staff plus Lane is still in tow. hysterical.

Weiss is talking directly to Sorsby. He is not getting speculation from social media.

The board's whipping boy Moscona said Weis is on the hook for $7.5M if he leaves LSU. I'm not sure if NFL vs another CFB gig rids him of that obligation.

I still wonder about this one. Weis has proven he can carry an offense on his own in college, but he has always run a scheme that the NFL has been very resistant to use. Concepts sure, but no NFL team runs a power spread. The league has always kind of thumbed their noses at Briles and his scheme.

Even though Kiffin’s offense is a variation that has been adapted a good bit, it still bears a solid resemblance. Maybe that’s not a big deal, but recent promotions from college like Chip Kelly (today, not a decade ago) and Monken ran very NFL-friendly offenses before making the move.

Maybe this doesn’t matter and won’t be an impediment. I guess we’ll see. That, or does Weis prefer to be a college Head Coach, because that call up would be almost certain a year from now.

The timing of this is also very suspect.

If he leaves LSU before April. I don’t know what it is after that.

If he leaves before April he has to pay LSU 7.5 million

Supposedly it is 5 million after.

has he though?

he was dogshit without Lane at USF.

just because he won a game with Lane’s players and Lane’s offense thats been there for over a half decade?

i wont be sad if Weis goes. I think we vastly overpaid for someone who just does what Lane wants

He certainly did a good job game planning for a much-improved UGA defense and tore them up. He had their offense ready and called a great game in a high pressure spot. I don’t think that can be dismissed out of hand.

I’d love to keep Weis for at least a year.

However, Offense is the least of my concerns under the Kiffin regime. Not something we’re used to saying as LSU fans

Ole Miss also had their QB turn a bunch of broken plays/bad calls turned into big plays. Weis is not some great OC on his own.

After all is said and done, Lane is the mastermind behind the offenses everywhere he has been. Weis will be gone this year or maybe the next so accept it and don’t worry at all about it.
