This is insane.

Tboy will be here soon to defend this.

If you think Minnesota is bad, just wait until they look into the NYC home healthcare scam, all paid for by Medicaid.
Home health aides are now the largest single occupation, and ~40% of all job growth, in New York.
New York has 171 aides per 1,000 residents aged 65+, the highest rate in the US and 153% higher than the national average.
They all self-report to be "caring for" someone (a lazy relative) as their full-time job, and the state just takes their word for it and pays them a salary.
It's statistically impossible.

I’m always astounded by how gigantic the paid caregiver occupation in New York has become. It’s 2.7x the second largest category (retail) and is where a massive chunk of job growth is coming from
“The state’s one-year increase of 57,000 accounted for almost a fifth of the home health aide jobs added nationwide.
Within New York, the category of “home health and personal care aides” – with a median hourly wage of $18.26 – represented 38 percent of all job growth.”

I’m glad all this is coming out as the average American is about to get 100% increase due to the ACA subsidies expiring. Maybe people will start realizing how much fraud is out there and how we are getting fricked.

Home health care historically has led to so many prosecutions

Wait til they look in to all those black churches in involved Medicaid "transportation" for elderly and lower income.
It's a huge scam.
It's a huge scam.

It's can be a scam but often if makes huge sense.
My mom died 10 years ago from cancer and my wife instead of working basically took care of her eating and pissing and shitting and showering for about 40 hours a week, She got paid for it, and it was cheaper than what I could ever have paid for had a I hired an aide and if was cheaper for the government than having the state send someone in (of course you can say, f*ck you, deal with it, not states problem - I might have had the same position until the cancer was found).
Fight the fraud don't end a good idea policy.
Do you not have this in Louisiana? it make a lot of sense to have someone stay home and get reinbursed.

That’s not even close to being true. Maybe 15-20% will be affected.
The whole damn ACA is a large scale theft ring also. Why subsidize it???
Get rid of it.

One of the biggest is affluent people who enact schemes to be poor on paper to get Medicaid to pay for their nursing homes.

And…. You make all these. Well it’s historically prosecuted as if that matters to the fact that it’s still occurs on a massive level ..

It mentions 65 and over but then it says Medicaid. That would imply the old folks are in nursing homes or they meant Medicare. Fraud is fraud but make sense with it. Medicare fraud used to be treble damages if proven.

You may be shocked to know there are many 65 and older on both Medicare & Medicaid. Dual eligibility. There’s a whole side insurance marketing arm for these folks.

It’s not in the top 200 scams.
And you don’t have data for it.
Affluent people don’t want to live in nursing home Medicaid beds. shite. Holes.

How many of the top 10 are run by Democrats?
Posted on 1/2/26 at 3:46 pm to the808bass
One trip to a Medicaid nursing home would change anyone’s mind about wanting to stay in one more than 10 minutes.
My first career goal was to be in nursing home management. That was until I did a day with my professor’s wife at one.
Holy shite. It was awful and it was considered a better one.

I can't ever get over the smell of urine...and these were "nice" ones.

I'm pretty sure my neighbor is running a home healthcare scam. I wish I could prove it.

Just goes to show you that fraud can't be stopped via threat of prosecution.
Criminals on the issue:

I wish I knew about this when I was providing 24hr in home care to my MIL last January and February.
Stupid me, I thought that's just what you do for your parents and relatives.
