Massive. Great comms. Deal was in the works yesterday for him according to my sauce. This could be the firework that starts our class off with a bang.

Will he be able to practice in spring?
Posted on 1/2/26 at 10:56 am to CueroTiger
And what do we do until about the middle of November or so while he’s injured?
Posted on 1/2/26 at 10:57 am to CueroTiger
Philly said he’s already agreed to a deal with LSU

You really think LSU would sign this guy for millions with no other options if he was set to be injured that long? Do you have brain cells?

A quick google search shows 5-6 month recovery time which would put him back on the field April / May. Not preferred but its not like he is dead. He will still be able to learn the playbook and attend meetings

Arizona State has emerged as the favorite to land Cutter Boley, who announced he will transfer from Kentucky on Thursday. Could the Cats do a straight-up swap with the Sun Devils for a signal caller?
Kentucky is now among the schools in the mix for Arizona State transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt, with Jacob Polacheck reporting there is smoke around the two parties. In 2024, Leavitt led the Sun Devils to the College Football Playoff, where they lost to Texas in a double-overtime thriller.
Leavitt is considered the top quarterback currently in the transfer portal, and in turn, has some pretty big suitors. On Wednesday, On3’s J.D. PicKell cited intel from Pete Nakos that Oregon and LSU were the two programs generating the most “buzz” around Leavitt, who hails from West Linn, Oregon.

But yeah, that’s ABSOLUTELY definite he’s back on the field 100 percent like he’s never been injured at all in April or May at the latest? And you want to go all in on Leavitt as the starting quarterback for 2026 based on these pie in the sky estimates and maybe-so’s?
Give me a fricking break.

I'd feel a little better if he got surgery right away when he injured it in late September instead of early November.

They’re not near the mix

So we should just stay away from guys with each and every injury? Do you understand how injuries work? I trust the coaches are way more in tune to the situation than you lol.

The only thing we can do is trust the coaches, but there is a lot of money that would be tied up with Leavitt.
It is very understandable to be concerned. The coaching staff themselves would be concerned, but if they land Leavitt, they decided it's worth the risk.

1. Its not my decision, i have no say so in who they go after.
2. He is going to get 5 mil or more wherever he ends up. I would assume that kind of money would come with some due diligence on his injury. The coaches are going to have a lot more and better info than we do. If they think its ok then its probably ok.

Our current HC and OC just found a DII transfer and made him a CFP semi finalist.
We will find depth that will do the job

Common sense doesn't seem to be in it for you.
LSU has way more resources and access to medical than the average person. You think they're dumb enough not to take a look before they invest? Maybe it's on the lower end for that type if injury.
I love how this boards acts like LSU has no plan in place. If it was worst case scenario maybe he sits a year(which I doubt) and target other QBs. That's why they're in on other QBs. It's fine to say it's concerning but to act like LSU doesn't know anything and just selling their soul is pretty ignorant.

Im not an orthopedic, but it looks like the long recoveries are usually when there is also a dislocation to go along with the fracture.

This is coming from a guy that isn’t as high on him as some, but from the information you can gather on his injury, he should be fine by end of March. Def wouldn’t leak in to November.
They called it a lingering issue that could have led to something more severe when they finally parked him on Sept 20th. That means the damage wasn’t as significant as some. Standard recovery times for Lisfranc are as follows: 4-6 weeks no weight, 4-6 weeks of controlled rehab, full recovery expected within 6 months even though some stretch out to a year. I don’t see the year thing being the case with a healthy 21 year old.
Waiting on Lester to come in and say I don’t know what I’m talking about so he can get his rocks off on an anonymous message board.
