Does anything fix tinnitus?

I have had tinnitus for over a year. I found that I had hearing loss and needed hearing aids. Hearing aids fix tinnitus for some, but only provided minor relief for me. There are many so-claimed fixes on social media, but I haven't found anything that works. My gym has free red light therapy, and I have been trying it for the past couple of weeks, with no change yet. My ENT is not aware of any real solutions.
Anybody tried a remedy that worked for them?

Lots of anecdotal suggestions out there, but nothing that is known to actually work. I'm lucky to be able to ignore it most of the time, but waking up in the still of the night can be like hearing a fire alarm.

Noisemaker on thunderstorm setting works like a charm for me.
During the day I usually have sports radio on.
Only get them during the day now, once it starts it goes away after a bit.

I’ve been told by some the more you think about it and pursue fixes the worse it bothers you. Not the answer you want obviously.
I do know someone in my department that had it bad and was largely helped by a microdose of amitryptiline (spelling?). It’s given as a tiny dose for things like nerve pain, heartburn that doesn’t really have any actual erosive damage and other weird nerve things. Apparently it’s given at a tiny fraction of the dose it’s given for depression. Probably also not the answer you want but it worked for this guy.

I only had a temporary case and this video helped me end it but I can't imagine being stuck with it and sincerely hope you find a fix or it stops.

I have had it for years, thankfully I just got used to it and it does not really bother me.

Nope, learn to ignore it is your best option.

Naw.
No cure.
I have military grade tinnitus and live with it.
It is merely another burden i carry through this vale of tears.
Suck it up, buttercup. There are things much worse than ringing in the ears.

I don’t have tinnitus, but I’m suffering from muffled sounds, echoing, and higher sensitivity to loud noises after an AR was shot 4 feet away from me. That happened October 5. It’s gotten a little better, but I’m learning to deal with it.
It sucks!

I've had it pretty much my entire life (certainly since middle school), you just get used to it.

Treatment depends on the cause. Hearing loss related tinnitus is, like you said, treated with hearing aids - but that does not mean it will entirely stop it - again as you've experienced.
Unfortunately tinnitus (esp Hearing loss related) is notoriously hard to treat
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is (by the book) the first line thing that should be used (but naturally few patients want that and is not regularly used as much as it should). Id ask your doctor to ref you for that.

Hearing aids for daytime
White noise app at night

I don't think anything works. A sound machine is a big help at night.

You do. It kind of just fades to the background for the most part. Those first couple of months are hell.
Of course, when you think about it......like the simple act of reading this thread......brings it to the forefront, though.
ETA: Mine is more of a really high pitched "TEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" than a ring. I know exactly when it started. I had been dealing with a bout of vertigo. I had been napping in my recliner and when I sat up, at the same time pushing the foot rest down, the whole world spun off its axis and nearly sent me into the floor. I caught myself on the chair arm and as soon as I got my bearings I noticed the ringing for the first time.
That was a few years ago. The vertigo is gone, but the constant "TEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" remains.

Michael Seidman has a lot of information out there about tinnitus and videos. Can be worthwhile to watch his videos.
He's into integrative medicine so has a lot of approaches that involve supplements, vitamins, nutrition etc.
Just a resource.
There's another guy Hamid djalilian who has started doing virtual consults for tinnitus. A lot of his treatments involve treating tinnitus as a migraine phenomenon, so I think a lot of treatments are tailored in that fashion
