More depressed than ever about the time era we’re heading towards…

I know I’m not the only one feeling this but am probably of the minority. I just get this overwhelming sense of deep sadness with every year that passes by.
Every year that passes by is a year further away from the world that I felt like I was the most happiest in. AI has now taken over the social media and the internet, so almost everything is fake and artificial. Films and video games are no longer the escape they once were due to corporate monopolization prioritizing quantity over quality and pumping out half-assed, unfinished, cookie-cutter dogshit. Rock music is basically dead because the younger generations would rather watch shitty brain dead low IQ fricking TikTok reels.
And to top it off, as a nation, we’re heading towards having one of the most toxic political climates in decades. Due to social media, people are treating politics like it’s a sporting contest. More kids are being radicalized in echo chambers and being brainwashed into thinking that political violence is okay.
With social media being the town square now, more and more kids in each succeeding generation are being raised on Instagram and TikTok and have no idea of what it’s like to actually live without social media. It’s just a giant cluster frick of problems that only gets worse with each following generation. With each subsequent generation, the narcissism and immaturity skyrockets while IQ plummets.
Is there a way that I can time travel back 20 to 30 years ago so I can get the frick out of whatever this world has become?

Yes. You can put down your phone and join clubs.

The world is going in the shitter, and none of us can stop that. Just get out there and enjoy the ride that is life. Get off social media and enjoy time with family and friends.

I agree with much of what you said. I feel the same way sometimes, very disappointed in what humanity has become. But the good news is that we are only here temporarily. Jesus promises us a much better place that is our permanent home. Trust in Him and our world seems insignificant. Happy 2026 to you.

If your life is this sad, it’s time to delete your social media, stop following politics, and go get some fresh air.
I’m not trying to be funny either. Nothing about the “era” we’re headed towards is anymore depressing than the one we’re in or the ones we have been in.

Get off the internet and turn the news off. That shite will wear you down.
Go visit your friends and family often. Enjoy your hobbies. It’s not that bad. I could share newspaper headlines and stories from various times in our history over the past 150 or so years that you would think the world was about to end by reading them.

All the stuff you’re upset about changing would have been nuts to your grandpa.

I don’t know man, we are only on this earth a short while. No since going around depressed. While some things are bad, a lot of things are getting better. I think life is what you make it. Find some hobbies, find religion, be a friend to others. I wish you the best!

Don't forget his Chief Counsel being the defense attorney for the 9/11 bombers.
I'd say "If I was a New Yorker, I'd be pissed...." but those stupid fricks voted for him, so frick em.

People think historical events happen rapidly because you can read about hundreds of years in 5 minutes.
We’re in the middle of a century+ long event right now that will be whittled down to a few paragraphs in 500 years.

Meh.
My experience in life hasn’t changed. I’ll let you know when it does though.
