I think the evidence is pretty clear so far that the bye hurts you more than it helps you

it’s not but it still helps better teams who are forced to sit around for a month

They have to make room for Notre Dame and its #1 SOS.

Are you really basing this assumption on one half of the quarterfinals? Because Ohio State's offense couldn't do much against IU either.

Teams with the bye didn’t look good last year either.

no im basing it on previous games in the past as well to go along with just common sense.

We have a one year sample size though. And Boise State and Arizona State were two of the teams with byes.

And ASU actually dominated Texas statistically. They lost in OT because they kept failing at 4th down conversions and FGs. So the argument doesn't make sense.

Teams with byes were 0-4 last year as well….

So basing it on 18 quarters….

So basing it on a B1G team beating a G5 team.

An SEC team sneaking by a Big XII team in OT.

A B1G rematch where the winning team barely lost the first meeting on the road.

ND over UGA was the only truly surprising result.

But muh time off.

Yes, and I'm basing it on MONEY.

last year they had to put 4 conference champs in those spots so we got a G5 team and a pretty good game from ASU

Let’s just go back to 8 instead of 16

Better yet walk it all the way back to two teams picked by a computer
