Dollar set for steepest annual decline in eight years

Investing.com -- The dollar is heading for its sharpest annual retreat in eight years as investors anticipate further declines if the next Federal Reserve chair implements more interest-rate cuts.
The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index has fallen 8.1% in 2025. The greenback initially tumbled following Donald Trump’s "Liberation Day" tariffs in April and has faced continued pressure as the president campaigned to install a dovish appointee as the next Fed chair.
Markets appear to be pricing in at least two rate reductions for 2026, creating a divergent policy path from other developed economies that diminishes the dollar’s attractiveness to investors.
The euro has strengthened against the dollar, supported by controlled inflation and anticipated European defense spending increases that have kept rate-cut expectations minimal. Meanwhile, traders in Canada, Sweden and Australia are betting on interest rate increases.
Attention remains focused on who will replace Jerome Powell when his term as Federal Reserve chair concludes in May.

Because the Fed continues to buy US Treasuries, i.e. printing money, thus diluting the USD and American savings. US Govt spends too much.

That’s how they decrease interest rates.
That do the opposite and sell treasuries to make interest rates go up, but the president is pressuring strongly against that.
Hopefully it won’t cause high inflation to come back soon.

That is good for exports

It’s the Mar-a-Lago Accord. Trump has expressly stated that he plans to devalue the dollar.

Sure it is. Is this another OMB Financial article that won’t age well?
It is sad to see so many people that openly root against America.

Treasuries are maturing and the Fed has put a cap on its purchases to replace the matured securities.
That's how the Fed lowers interest rates.

This is what I voted for

So, if the US dollar is devalued or made to be extinct,
what is this board's thoughts on the best manner to trade currency/assets/chits in exchange for goods and services one wishes to purchase (other than carrying farm animals or fresh produce around in your wagon all day?)

Yet another doom thread from the OP. Here's hoping maybe one day one will come true and make him happy.

So the simplest, securest, and easiest (also in terms of untraceable transactions) is tying a currency to a hard asset of value, that is unencumbered by outside uncontrollable (such as power outage) forces. Agree.

[Dollar set for steepest annual decline in eight years]
Thus obviously just a matter of short time that the USD is collapsed to Zimbabwe value. Metals and hard assets will necessarily skyrocket.
The Money-Changing overlords have obviously and purposely been demolishing the dollar to target Middle Class wealth and set up their Have/Have-Not Caste System. This is why and how NGOs, America's gubmint programs and politicians have been given carte blanche to rob & money-launder feral funds blind -- with ZERO oversight.
Centralized One-World Digital Currency tied to their Social Credit Score system here we come. "Golden Age" indeed. For whom??

For the Babylonian Luciferian-Occult ruling class (so they believe.)
Trump was chosen as the tip of their spear to roll out their RESET aka "Golden Age" with minimal push-back.

It's already worth just $0.01 of its value since 1913.
So the plan to reduce it to this kind of pocket change?
