Target cull was here 15 minutes ago, hope he returns.

Cousin’s grandson hunting in the back for a fat doe. Very little activity overnight so they should be hungry.

Good luck and be safe fellas.

At the end of yesterday's all day sit, seeing nothing but a coyote, I told my wife I was done for the season except youth weekend. So naturally I'm 25 feet up a cedar looking down to a creek and across toward a hay field.

21 degrees, Maury county TN Yanahli WMA
Climber, 6.5 cm, let's go!

Going to give it a rest for a week then back at it till the end of the season.

In my saddle on a little ridge I’ve been hunting the past couple years. It’s my first sit in here this season though. Came the other day and someone was parked at the spot to access it so I stayed out and let him have it. Almost overslept but thankfully I planned to get up an hour earlier than usual because of how dry it is and no wind this morning so I still managed to get set up before legal shooting time.
Rattle bag will be used within the next hour if one doesn’t show before. Good luck!

After a couple weeks of early mornings, I slept in today. I got boat hooked up, going on mid day hunt. Probably should take blind off and put the trolling motor on and chase walleye, almost no wind this morning.

I’m not hunting till Friday, but I can post a few pics from the past weekend. It’s been the best year with the dogs since our club started in the 1980’s. GPS tracking has been a game changer always knowing which way they’re heading.

Kinda like the live scope of the dog hunters world.

Loved running dogs when I was a kid.

Cold, 22, no wind

Elevated box Hunting an L. Directly in front 350 yard lane x 40’ wide. To my west lane a little longer and same width.

7mmRem Mag, Browning X-Bolt

Had a huge, huge 9 we’ve been seeing on camera all season, mainly at night. This dude comes out 11 minutes before shooting time 170 yards away to feed at gravity feeder. Could see him all through Binos and scope. Gun up on rail and ready, just waiting for legal light. Thought it was at legal light. Looked at phone and still 4 more minutes. That joker walked back into woods 2 minutes until shooting light. I thought for sure it was time. Very disappointed. That’s the way it goes sometimes. Maybe a bigger 170” deer we have walking around shows up once frost melts. I’ve been sitting in my stand stewing over that other deer all morning sine it happened. About to turn phone off, pay attention and sit still all day if I can

Yeah it’s almost like cheating.

But at least no more riding around all night looking and listening for dogs.
