Take the walking tour of the Rip Van Winkle Gardens and eat at the Jefferson Cafe right on site. The wife and I have eaten there and the food was excellent.
You get your fill there and the drive back to BR is just a straight shot that way.

Shade Tree in Broussard.
Unless they’re closed. Boiling Point in New Iberia, Tons, BJs, Nash’s, Poorboys Riverside Inn in Broussard. T Coons off Pinhook in Laffy. No shortage of options in that area.

Good for him, but it’s a loss for foodies. Ate lunch there a lot when I worked in Broussard and never had a bad meal.

I know the new owners of the STC house and site. It's my understanding Donielle and Brian were gonna try to keep Lonnie's food menu and serve food through the Cafe. They own the DREAMS Foundation, do amazing things for kids and families with special needs, and make incredible meat pies.
FYI - the D.R.E.A.M.S. Foundation was born in 2007, with a mission to support individuals with special needs and their families. From sports programs, Theater, Art, to job opportunities through D.R.E.A.M.S. Manufacturing Company, the foundation has blossomed into a beacon of inclusivity in the Lafayette community. Today, it stands as a testament to the power of determination, love, and inclusion.
