If they're just out of school, yes.

Otherwise I can go by their professional reputation/track record.

I know some great docs that sucked with standardized testing

You should be able to determine how competent your doctor is within 1 minute of meeting them

As the question was asked, "what do you call someone who was last in the class in medical school"

Was that just blatant racism or is there somewhere else that I’m supposed to look to find those ladies GPA and MCAT?

some of the top grads of my graduating class in pharmacy school are absolutely trash pharmacists... meanwhile, some of the lower tiered people, like myself, are more successful and have had a more lucrative, or notable career...

doing well in class and doing well in the field are two totally different things...

Yes, I am concerned with the doctor’s basic intelligence as well as their experience. Bedside manner is what most people want, but I think bedside manner is totally overrated.

Someone who busted their arse and beat the odds to become a doctor is someone I would like caring for me. That’s passion for medicine, not birthright.

I can tell you not all doctors are equal.

My wife was diagnosed with a terminal illness based on very little information. All "scientific testing" was completely normal. Guy did a physical exam and said, "you have "X" terminal illness", I'm sending you to a specialist in this disease.

No differential diagnosis, nothing to rule anything else out, etc. I've seen people that don't know what they are doing, I know what that looks like, early in my career, that was me sometimes.

We are waiting to see someone else.

That’s some Bro Science there, lol. These tests are very important because everyone takes the same tests. GPA’s can sometimes be bullshite because a 4.0 at Alcorn State isn’t a 4.0 at MIT. This includes different majors as well. All majors are not created equal. That’s where standardized tests come in. They separate those with higher intellect and capacity to learn. The MCAT is comparing apples to apples. Watch this clip with Tosh talking about people who are bad at standardized tests, lol. Trust me I’m not a good test taker (just average) and I want my doctor being smarter than my dumbass.

I've never asked.

The lazy students that lived by the motto “Cs get degrees” have already flocked to this thread to insist they’re really successful

I’ll say it. She only got in because she is a minority. The scale of difficulty in getting in is completely different for white or Asian men. Probably tough for Asian women too compared to black or Hispanic women. No way she gets in as a white guy or Asian.

A long time and highly respected surgeon, has been telling me horor stories of DEI unqualified admissions, med school training and DEI hand holding, social promotion preferences infesting med schools . We should all damn well be concerned.

You won’t know that information and in fact, you have no clue what scored a doctor has had your whole life.

A person who finishes last in medical school is still a doctor
