Been saying it for a very long time. The MSM is truly our enemy. The POTUS has the authority to jail them and it has been done before. What else can a POTUS do to a serious threat to the security of the United States of America?

Sounds like Stalinism to me.

Outlaw newspapers that don’t blindly support you.

Let me know when Trump gets caught spying on reporters like the Obama admin did with Fox News. Until then, zip it.

I don’t mind that they don’t blindly support Trump.

What bothers me is their blind religious adoration of the anyone on the left.

Also, we should stop pretending that there any actual “journalist.”

It’s either pompous fricking dorks in the MSM or rage bait douches on TikTok and YouTube. It’s all theater. It’s all gay.

Yes, that rag is Pravda-esque communist trash

The Return of Aviator Joe - President Biden is back after Covid, vacation and legislative victories, and so are his shades.

Fyi, it took this news source nearly two years to admit the Hunter biden laptop was legitimate because they were coordinating with the DOJ to create doubt about it.

Probably should pipe down about involvement with “kings”

Wanting to ban news outlets and imprison reporters is exactly that....

Because one institution is corrupt, the answer is to give another corrupt institution authority over information?

If the problem is captured media, the obvious response is to break the influence and credibility of captured media, not to support policies that ultimately centralize messaging under the state.

Good ideas survive without enforcement. Bad ideas collapse without persecution. When you ask the state to silence speech, you’re not defending truth, you’re confessing you don’t believe your version of it can stand on its own.

The Trump admin is under no obligation whatsoever to cater to news media who intentionally misrepresents facts for the purpose of causing political damage to the admin’s objectives, or for the purpose of assisting the admin’s opposition.

And I guess I missed where trump said he was going to start putting them in prison in the OP.

So we rant about lack of freedom of speech in the UK but trying to silence one of our countries oldest news papers is no big deal… Got ya…

It’s not news, it’s propaganda.

But don’t take my word for it, ask Bari Weiss

Bari Weiss on why she left the New York Times

quote:

a new consensus has emerged in the press, but perhaps especially at this paper: that truth isn’t a process of collective discovery, but an orthodoxy already known to an enlightened few whose job is to inform everyone else.

quote:

My own forays into Wrongthink have made me the subject of constant bullying by colleagues who disagree with my views. They have called me a Nazi and a racist; I have learned to brush off comments about how I’m “writing about the Jews again.” Several colleagues perceived to be friendly with me were badgered by coworkers. My work and my character are openly demeaned on company-wide Slack channels where masthead editors regularly weigh in. There, some coworkers insist I need to be rooted out if this company is to be a truly “inclusive” one, while others post ax emojis next to my name. Still other New York Times employees publicly smear me as a liar and a bigot on Twitter with no fear that harassing me will be met with appropriate action. They never are.

quote:

Op-eds that would have easily been published just two years ago would now get an editor or a writer in serious trouble, if not fired. If a piece is perceived as likely to inspire backlash internally or on social media, the editor or writer avoids pitching it. If she feels strongly enough to suggest it, she is quickly steered to safer ground. And if, every now and then, she succeeds in getting a piece published that does not explicitly promote progressive causes, it happens only after every line is carefully massaged, negotiated and caveated.

quote:

The paper of record is, more and more, the record of those living in a distant galaxy, one whose concerns are profoundly removed from the lives of most people. This is a galaxy in which, to choose just a few recent examples, the Soviet space program is lauded for its “diversity”; the doxxing of teenagers in the name of justice is condoned; and the worst caste systems in human history includes the United States alongside Nazi Germany.

Even now, I am confident that most people at The Times do not hold these views. Yet they are cowed by those who do. Why? Perhaps because they believe the ultimate goal is righteous. Perhaps because they believe that they will be granted protection if they nod along as the coin of our realm — language — is degraded in service to an ever-shifting laundry list of right causes.

To put this discussion in the necessary perspective: do we want Trump/MAGA/“the right” to

Defeat communists?
Or
Pat ourselves on the back about doing things the right way while the communist continues to gobble up and corrupt territory like it’s been doing the last 30 years?

There are no alternative options. “But what if”…no. “You can’t just”…no. “How would it look if”…no.

Your opposition (The New York Times) has ZERO intention of doing things the right way. Which, in their case, is reporting “just” the news.

Answering this question the wrong way thousands of times over the last 30 years has brought us exactly to the point we are at now. Choose wisely going forward.

I see where the dust up of Bari nixing that hit piece of CECOT on 60 minutes died down with a quickness.

The ole, they were not "convicted" of a crime is such nonsense. When you illegally enter the country six times, have two DWIs, and various assault charges........you dont have the right to a speedy trial, you do however deserve to be picked up and dropped in CECOT. Its called the Lincoln Riley Law, passed by congress which they failed to mention.

They also lied that the WH, DHS, etc did not comment, they did within two hours of being contacted.

Ole Bari said, here we go again, another lawsuit and we are standing here with our pants down, best pass on this airing.

True. Which is why it's petty, juvenile and absurd to single out the NY Times. They're all the same.
