Was in Tampa recently on business and been meaning to get back here. Reservation were 3 months out and could not get one. Someone told me to try and get there early , 5pm and snag a chair at the bar. Got there at 5 and there was 1 chair available.

Steak was their trio including dry aged. You could cut it w/ a fork.

They offered me a kitchen tour and I took it and then went to their separate dessert area.

All in all, 9/10

Bern’s is really good but the original Doe’s in Greenville, MS is better as far as taste goes.

Berns is a fantastic overall steakhouse experience. The dessert room and wine list are incredible. The regular steaks is give a solid B+ to but the whole thing is my favorite package. At the bar, order the steak sandwich.

One of the GOAT wine cellars in the country. Its wild

(getting bourbon there instead of wine is borderline a crime)

Mixing bourbon and wine gives me a headache the next day. I am not passing up George T Stagg and an Eagle Rare Bern's barrel pick.

Bar opens I believe at 430. As a solo diner you should be able to get a seat relatively easy whenever you go. If no seats, just tell them you’d like next seat to open and have a drink while you wait.

We went to Tampa for the Outback Bowl several years back.......I tried and tried to get a reservation at Bern's but it was always booked.

The day we got there I tried again and they had a bunch of availability so I booked. When we got there I asked the ladies at the hostess stand why did they suddenly have openings?

They said it was because they only book 30 days out (or whatever the number was) and a lot of locals book just in case they want to eat there, and many cancel as their reservation gets close. Take that FWIW.

Steaks were great but the dessert room is what puts this place over the top..

One other crazy thing about Bern's.......they have Bowfin caviar on the menu

Bern's isn't bad. But you go there for the experience. The steaks are decent. If you come back to Tampa and you want an excellent steak, check out Charley's. Be sure to get the Tartare, best I've ever had.
