It has James Madison on the front and the statue of liberty on the back. It's gold in color but sadly not real gold.

I was in Manhattan and there was a little cafe/ coffee shop next door to the hotel and they gave change less than $5 in $1 coins. Like if you gave them $10 and your order was $6, they gave you back four $1 coins. I think they did that figuring people would drop the coins in the tip jar.

Merry Christmas Jim! Wishing you some holiday cheer.
I know from experience that this time of year can be rough for some.

I bought a couple rolls of each of the presidential dollar coins as they came out, but I stopped somewhere along the way. They never caught on. I have several rolls of uncirculated ones in my bank box.

Sounds like others do too: “ Presidential $1 coins failed to circulate well, leading to a stockpile of more than $1.1 billion Presidential dollar coins in bank vaults.”

I would’ve gave it back and told them to give me a real dollar bill. I don’t pay with cash tho because I’m not trashy.
