If I have rounds -American Eagles krugerands etc what price should I expect to get?
Premium for eagles but they have to make money so more less spot?

My buddy tried to dump some.
No where near spot price at a shop.
My question is, aside from currency debasement, which is not new, why the sudden uptick

When silver is in backwardation selling is tough because the refiners can't hedge so they stop buying and everything cascades.
Wait until CNBC and morons like that excite the normies and lines start forming at the coin shops. Then sell.

I dumped some last month at the coin shop in Covington. Spot price for the Eagles. Spot minus $1 for the basic silver rounds

I’ve been on record as recommending Causeway Coin in Metairie, I’m sure it’s a madhouse and they can’t pay a premium for accepting the risk due to the backlog for melting. If you can wait, I’d also recommend that as well.
I’ve been casually collecting US 90% silver coins since the mid ‘80s.
My basis on some of it is $5.00/ounce silver.
I collect coins and have done evaluations for estates.
If I was comfortable with offering to purchase collections, I have at times to save folks the hassle of going and finding someone they could trust.
I always paid at least spot for the silver & gold so they wouldn’t feel cheated. The collector coins were more subjective, I’ve never cheated or taken advantage of anyone but I assumed risk trusting my own grading and so I paid less than retail for them.
Now there are so many counterfeit coins from Asia (mostly China) that I’d be hesitant to mess with any coins or collections that I didn’t know the folks personally.
My historical honesty is being rewarded now by tenfold or more as to the silver runup.
Hard to believe that a pre-‘64 dime has $5.00 worth of silver in it.

I sold a couple of tubes last week at 70/ounce on FB marketplace when price was around 66. Someone will want them, just set the meet for a police station or another safe exchange zone

I sold some to the same shop early last week and got $1 less than spot too. If spot was less volatile, sell price on eagles are normally higher than spot. When spot was $26 a year ago, eagles were $33ish.
Still holding much more but I’m retired and needed to fund a project. Spot was $63 when I sold. I think I started the run lol
