The U.S. economy grew at a much greater-than-expected pace in the third quarter, boosted by strong consumer spending, a delayed report released Tuesday showed.

U.S. GDP, a sum of all goods and services produced in the sprawling U.S. economy, expanded by 4.3% in the July-September period, the Commerce Department said in its initial reading of third-quarter growth. Economists polled by Dow Jones expect a gain of 3.2%.

Consumer spending expanded by 3.5% in the third quarter after rising 2.5% in the second quarter.

Increases in exports and government spending also boosted growth, while a smaller dip in private fixed investment helped as well.

Increased exports is good but I do not know about increased government spending. Overall it is a good report and is a slap in the face to those hoping for a recession (democrats) and chamber of commerce RINO cucks (HHTM).

There’s no question the economy is stronger now than the last years under Biden’s handlers, but the Dems and their MSM resisted calling a recession then, and very much want to call a recession now.

Our economy is propped up by the never ending increase in government spending. We serfs must enjoy the micro-economy for as long and as much as we can.

REMINDER: One Big Beautiful Bill "increase in deficit spending" is based on assumed 1.8% GDP.

2nd REMINDER: Bidens "inflation reduction" bill was said not to increase deficit spending and was based on an average of 6% GDP for the first 5 years.

You don't remember the red hot economy Biden oversaw? It's almost exactly like the red hot economy under Trump. We're so lucky that we got 2 geriatric economic geniuses to lead our country back to back.

Just without the crippling inflation and high gas prices during most of Joe Biden's term.

I do not recall that. However, I do remember paying over $3.50 for a gallon of 87 octane in Mississippi during Biden's term.

In December 2021, U.S. gas prices were rising, with the national average for regular gasoline around $3.40 per gallon by month's end, up from earlier in the year

quote:

Gas prices in December 2025 are low, hovering around the $2.85–$2.90 national average, marking the cheapest holiday season since 2020

To compare what each were "left with", let's revisit gas prices of January of those years.

quote:

In January 2021, U.S. gas prices were steadily rising from the start of the year, with the national average hovering around $2.39 per gallon

quote:

In January 2025, U.S. gas prices averaged around $3.08 - $3.20 per gallon

Yeah, exactly the same.

Biden Jan 2021, $2.39 (Trump's legacy)
Biden Dec 2021 $3.40

Trump Jan 2025 $3.17 (Biden's legacy)
Trump Dec 2025 $2.89

Energy costs is the key to almost everything economy related. It's what makes the world go around. Lower energy = less to make/process/distribute = Lower inflation = more disposable income = more purchases = more productivity, and it keeps on turning.
High energy is a tax and grind on everything.
