They are absolutely money now.

Olave is NOT money
Johnson has improved TREMENDOUSLY with Shough throwing to him though

Shough throws a very catchable spiral and doesn’t generally lead his receivers into danger.

Olave is a highly skilled player that is a stat machine who has and continues to make awful drops that induce head shaking moments and cries of “fricking olave”
Unfortunately Shough has not fixed that.
Johnson has been money the last few games. I hope he has had a true turnaround, and I really do hope Olave becomes reliable and dependable

I agree with all of this……unfortunately I think that this is who Olave is though. He is not going to be that DOMINANT #1WR that should get paid what he will want to get paid (unless some unforeseen jump occurs). But if he can be more dependable AND stay for WR2 money….. I wouldn’t have any reservations about re-signing him.

No he's not, he's serviceable, there's a difference.

He's pushing top 10 in receiving yards

Because of the volume of targets……not because he’s dominant

So he's getting open to target?

Can't really depend on him to make the critical catches.

Since shough took over, Olave...
40 catches 541 yds 4 td
7 games

True. Was all in on JJ being out. Congrats to him.

He has basically 40 more targets than Johnson and 20 more catches. That's bad.

Olave 17 game pace with Shough
97 catches
1,313 yards
10 TDs
Olave 17 game pace with Rattler
110 catches
1,069 yards
6 TDs
He’s been a different player under Shough. Credit to Moore as well

It is good play calling, but it’s also the fact that Shough goes through his progressions much more than Rattler did. Shough also calls a lot more audibles and adjustments before the ball is snapped, resulting in better opportunities for the receivers.

Olave is currently:
#3 in targets
#5 in catches
#6 in TDs
#6 in yds
#23 in yds/catch
Other than the low yds/catch (which is a design of the offense), he's put up top 5 WR numbers in the league this year. People aren't going to like it, but he's playing like a top 5 WR, at a time where passing numbers are down all across the league. He's going to get top 5 WR money, whether it is here or somewhere else.

Then he should get paid elsewhere. He is not clutch enough with contested catches to be paid like a top 5 receiver. I’d rather us draft one. Olave will cost us 1-2 games a year with huge drops.

Yes, go cheap on weapons for our young qb

Olave shouldn’t be a top 5 receiver as far as pay. He is going to likely be frequently hurt, have concussions, drop passes, etc. We would be better off trading for a top 5 receiver if Olave wants to be paid like one. If he wants to be paid like a top 20 receiver then ok.
If he wants less than 30 million a year as someone here pointed out then maybe so. He should not get over 30+ from the Saints.

The top 5 highest-paid NFL wide receivers by average annual salary (AAV) are currently led by
Ja'Marr Chase ($40.2M), followed by Justin Jefferson ($35M), CeeDee Lamb ($34M), DK Metcalf ($33M), and A.J. Brown ($32M), with Garrett Wilson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Tyreek Hill also near the top, as deals continue to evolve, though Chase's new deal with the Bengals makes him the highest-paid non-QB in NFL history.
