In his short head coaching career. Crazy that some would want him fired. Will not be surprised if he pulls the "upset" on Indiana.

They’ll beat Indiana and get rocked in the final 4. They were given a gift with their playoff bracket.

Where is Sun God to try to call me out for saying he was the best pure coach in CFB when he went to Bama?

Great thread

Yeah but what’s his winning percentage compared to Brian Kelly’s though?

He’s better than people are giving him credit for. Bama is lucky to have him.

Booting Arnold to make way for Arnold 2.0 at OU is pretty damn funny at least

People are expecting him/Alabama to be up there at Saban levels. That's just not going to happen. Saban was the GOAT for a reason. DeBoer has his flaws, but you don't have a record like that and not be a good head coach. He's only been head coach at the D1 level for 6 seasons and has won pretty much everywhere he's been (in 2 P5 conferences). He's still young and got a lot of time to grow with more experience (and improve on his flaws).

4 losses to unranked teams in only two seasons is pretty bad no matter how you slice it

Right here SFP

Do you still think he is the best pure coach in CFB?

He and BK have the same record in their first two seasons on the job

Good win for him last night though

Program maintenance, filmwork, analysis, strategy, Xs and Os, etc. As opposed to a guy relying on accumulating insane talent (like a Les or Kirby). Saban was so dominant b/c he was so good at both.

Cignetti probably would be considered better today, but not when the statement was made.

He's not perfect. And a lot of that had to do with Milroe throwing games away. People forget Saban nearly lost to a horrendous Arkansas team and was a 4th and 31 away from losing to a terrible Auburn team in his last season.

I think Indiana's record the past 2 years puts him more at 2 behind Cignetti
