Broken Arrow leaders vote to rezone area for proposed mosque, retail development
Devyn Lyon
UPDATE (12/18/25) — The Broken Arrow Planning Commission voted to approve the rezoning request to turn 15 acres of land just south of the Creek Turnpike along Olive Avenue from agricultural use to commercial and conditional use, allowing for a retail center and a mosque to be built on the site.
The topic was contentious with over 60 people signing up to speak at Thursday's planning commission meeting.

Will you be close enough to hear the call to prayer 5 times a day?

I have an idea of how to handle it but I might get banned. Oh, by the way, did yall notice the fire marshall there at the start of the video?

At this time it is my opinion that most of these Islam types must be shipped back to Syria,Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran and more. Load ‘em up on some cruise ships and ship them out.

Asking out of curiosity, would it even be possible to vote no on this without losing a court case for discrimination for religious beliefs? If they have a history of approving rezoning to allow churches, retail development, then I don't see much wiggle room here.

No town has ever gotten more peaceful after a mosque was built there. It’s pretty much only downside.

And Judaism and Christianity wouldn’t exist today without the Persians.

Locals better make sure the retail area has no success. And vote those board members out knowing they are there not to listen to locals.
Moslims are positioning themselves just right, using the the Rights they didn't spill blood for against the people whos ancestors did.
Their stat govt better figure out what to do like TX is trying to do.

With the MB and cair being deemed terrorist groups essentially, could that help halt it?

Before the foundation of the world, Judaism, Christianity and Christ (who has no beginning or end) was decreed into existence. The edict of Cyrus was part of it.

Obviously the only successful place if allowed. Get that pork money going thru their evil mosque.

I don't know. I was hoping someone with expertise on this would chime in because if I was on the board and had to vote, I would really only see two options. Vote against it and be prepared to pay legal fees for a discrimination lawsuit that I don't think we would win or vote to approve it.
