The Bears belong to their owners, which is not the City of Chicago.

Looks like he learned how to make a word salad from Kamala…

I hear Green Bay fans saying that the bears franchise deserves that city.
Isn’t STL nearly as shitty?

Not that I agree with spending public money on sports teams, but maybe rethinking the millions upon millions that they provided to illegals

As much as I don't like this mayor, if I'm going to see a Bears game, I want to see them in the elements, on real turf grass, and at Soldier Field.

At least Chicago has a nice part and some good suburbs. Does St. Louis have nice parts?

Put them in East St. Louis, IL.

I went to a wedding in downtown St. Louis & from the airport to downtown looked like Mogadishu. I remember seeing the exit for Ferguson & was not surprised. I know there are nice parts of St Louis like Clayton & the downtown area (the Cardinals stadium is underrated) but I unfortunately didn’t see them. And I say this as someone who lived in New Orleans for a decade. I was shocked how bad it was.
Chicago is basically a tale of the North Side & South Side. Very segregated with no hope for the South Side. Ever.

I guess you don't know St Louis very well. Inner city sucks but a lot of good suburbs

It's worse, tbh

According to what I read, the Bears were only asking for normal infrastructure to be covered by the public - sewer, electric grid, etc with a guaranteed tax rate so they could raise the money do the build elsewhere.
A lot of NFL teams are now owning their stadiums it adds a ton of value to the team.

I’ve heard the BBQ is great, other than the airport, I’ve never been there.

They’re not going to St Louis. The Bears have been discussing a potential new stadium in Gary, IN about 20 miles from where they are now. Basically a suburb of Chicago.
It would be hilarious because they’d still be the Chicago Bears…..but Indiana would be reaping the economic benefit
