House GOP moderates on Wednesday privately huddled with a bipartisan group of senators to begin plotting the next steps on extending the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced subsidies. The meeting came after four Republicans broke ranks and signed a Democratic-led discharge petition, pushing it to the 218 signatures required to force a vote on extending the ObamaCare subsidies for three years.

Absent cooperation from Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and an emergency hearing in the House Rules Committee, members will not be able to force a vote on the matter until early January. But House moderates are already looking ahead. At a meeting in the Capitol Wednesday morning, they talked strategy with senators including Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) and Angus King (I-Maine). Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.), co-chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, told reporters that once the bill passes the House, they are counting on the Senate to make changes so it can garner the 60 votes needed to pass.

“We’ve taken yet another extreme measure today,” Fitzpatrick said. “This will result in the bill coming to the floor. It will pass. It will go to the Senate, and the Senate, we just met with them, are going to take it up. They’re going to send something back, and we will find a way to get that bill to the floor.”

Because this tactic has produced such great results...

We really need to fire the entirety of Congress and get actual working people in there who can make decisions.

Good. We want republicans on record as supporting massive premium increases. We want republicans on record as wanting families to have no access to health insurance. That is what republicans want. It can be used in every local election.

Because it’s working out so good for Obamacare as it keeps pushing people away from affordable healthcare . Dumb question but do you pay for healthcare or is taxpayers paying

The Senate voted last week. Senate republicans voted to give money to American tax payers to help pay for healthcare costs. Democrats voted to give money to insurance companies. Why do you support making insurance companies richer?

Are you against big pharma and big medical insurance, or are you only against all the other corporations?
