If Frank Wilson leaves for OM…

Frank Wilson turning his back on LSU hurts his recruiting ability more than it helps it, and that’s about all he’s good for… If he’s so good with New Orleans and abandoned LSU for a step down at Ole Miss, why would recruits trust him?
I just can’t imagine that a decision like this would help him professionally, especially after publicly saying as the head coach of LSU, “I love this school”, “I’d do anything for this school”, and then turning around and leaving for one of our permanent opponents.
EDIT: I’m aware Frank wasn’t going to be the RB coach under Kiffin. I’ve read multiple places just like you have that he was offered an off the field recruiting role. If he truly “loved” the school so much he’d take it.
I don’t blame him for taking another job. I’m just questioning his word & how that would affect his trustworthiness leading to recruiting.

Kiffin did not want Frank as his RB coach.
What do you retards not understand about this?
He did not turn his back on LSU. He was told to find work elsewhere and Austin Thomas, who was also shown the door, probably recruited him to Ole Miss.

Kiffin was not retaining Frank fyi...Man had to get him a job, don't hate him for it. If Frank was given an opportunity to stay at LSU in a role that he was suited for or happy with, Frank would be staying at LSU.

You can love a school and still go coach at another. If Kiffin planned to retain him, he would still be here. But since he isnt being retained, he had to find work elsewhere. Whats so hard to understand about that?

I pretty sure Frank was given the opportunity to stay at LSU. Just not a position he wanted. Kiffin wanted him in an off the field role and he refused that.

That’s what I’ve been seeing too.

To me it would depend on salary difference between rb coach and off field recruiting role. If it’s a big pay cut then I can’t blame him for leaving and can’t say he doesn’t love LSU and the state. I can love my job but if they suddenly come up and cut my pay in half for example then I could still love that job but want to go work elsewhere

This is not about money or being an on-field coach. It's 100% about his pride and not wanting to appear to be demoted to an off-field position. I think LSU would have (over)paid him a handsome salary regardless just to keep the New Orleans ties.
Promoting him to interim was a terrible idea by Woodward. Like literally there was no benefit to it. We got worse after he took over and he's going to leave anyway.

He was given the opportunity to stay in a non-coaching capacity.

It neither hurts nor helps it. And it will be looked at as LSU turning their back on him as much as the other way around.

LSU moved on from him. If my former employer’s rivals is going to pay me more to coach, then I would say Hotty Toddy too.

That’s a whole lot of coping for a coach who left already.

There’s no way some of you are gainfully employed. Truly moronic
