Wrong. Obamacare was marketed as a trade-off-free panacea with no policy downsides. Many explicit promises about what it would achieve have been shattered. Those of us who correctly predicted these things were smeared as liars and even racists.

You cannot overestimate how big of a failure Obamacare has been at every practical metric.
And yet the Democrats are now pretending that Obamacare is the Republicans’ fault.

Insurance companies were freaking out that their FedGov checks wouldn't come every month.
It makes sense though when Barry mandated you had to have insurance or face the penalty. That money has to come from somewhere.

The only republicans at fault was one piece of shite Senator from Arizona that voted no when it could have been repealed.

It was very important that people in their 40s, 50s and 60s be required to buy policies with full pregnancy coverage.

The thing with Obamacare is for a few people it made healthcare free but for everybody else it raised prices significantly. And the people who get it for free already have/had multiple avenues for free healthcare.

And legacy media is dutifully carrying that water.

Dems projecting this POS on anyone is laughable.
They shoved that fricker through.
Imagine how insane the Dems would have gone if not for Scott Brown.

I tried to sign my daughter up for it when she went to college and was too old to stay on my plan. Cola on my plan would have been $800 a month so that was out the window. I was told by ACA that since my daughter didn’t make enough money to qualify that she was denied. The premiums were based on income and they didn’t just give it to you for free.
They should keep it going until a better solution is offered but no one is even trying to find one, it’s just get rid of this because it’s associated with Obama. This is a hill that some will definitely die on.

Lol they jammed huge subsidies through during COVID
Dems want to keep them and add more to cobble together this pos.
RS will cave and we will pour more money directly into insurance rape artists pockets.
Thanks Obama and Dems.

It's almost as if no one read it before passing it.
I seem to remember us having to pass it to know what was in it.
Anyone who says anything remotely like that ever again needs to be tarred, feather, and run out of town on a pole.
Doomed to failure. Just a feed trough for insurance companies.

Republicans predicted death panels and old people being denied service when Obamacare was passed.
In reality Obamacare increased the number of insured people in the US by around 45 million people.
On top of that, the cost of healthcare has risen slower after obamacare than it was before it.

Republicans have been wrong about damn near everything. All they have is fear mongering and lies.
Meanwhile we've had over a decade for republicans to offer literally any plan to make things better and they've offered nothing.

It isn't media anymore, just the political propaganda arm of the "Dim"ocratic party.

McCain said at the time the only reason he voted no was because republicans promised "repeal and replace" and he wouldn't vote to repeal until they had a plan to replace it with. Turns out he was right because it's been near a decade and republicans still don't have a replacement plan.

No. We knew in 2010 that this thing was a disaster and destined to fail. This was absolute garbage from the get-go. But since you brought him up:

We were told "we would have to pass it, to see what's in it".
Posted on 12/17/25 at 2:29 pm to Jbird
I mean, since it’s so horrible it should be easy to get rid of and replace right?
The reality is it hasn’t because getting rid of it means getting rid of pre-existing condition coverage.
No congressman on either side will do that, and frankly, they shouldn’t.
