Good for him, hope he gets that job

He coached Malik and BTJ! He should definitely get it.

He's responsible for LSU's WR's not being able to concentrate and catch the fricking football. It's focus and technique. That can be fixed with coaching. Do yall remember 2019 when Brady was coaching the WR's? No drops! It's coaching stupid!

so was it coaching in 2023 when BJT and Malik were balling out?

If they're looking for a buddy coach who doesn't hold his WR accountable for drops and has poor rotations, they hired the right guy.

Hankton is a good WR coach. More than anything there were some recruiting misses at WR. It wasn't that his coaching was bad. Other than Tredez I doubt Lane wants any of our returning WRs b/c he doesn't think they're good enough.

“Rotations” has become my favorite TD talking point

Frank and Cortez had a knack for making the wrong subs at the wrong time

Which really means that we are giving him a raise and keeping him but this is the excuse for it

Route running and drops were dogshit under Hankton for the most part

I think Kyle Parker is a good one.

lol my man let’s don’t set here and act like Hankton was a remotely good WR coach. There is a reason why UGA wanted him gone and why Kiffin is not retaining him. I wish him well but he was really bad honestly. Guys like Malik and BJT were going to be great even if big bird from Sesame Street was their WR coach. They were gifted athletes. Thats like some of the people on here saying Brad Davis coached up Will Campbell and Emory Jones.
Hankton was the worst I’ve ever seen with the WR rotations during games. I don’t think Ohio State has done much research on this guy.

i didnt say he was, i simply asked a question.
point was...good players make the coach look really good
and even if you have good players...if you have a terrible scheme like we did this year....you still look bad.

1. Were already on staff when he came partially developed by the time he came they were only with him 1-2 years at most
2. Poor recruiter overall considering the potentials he lost out on
3. WRs consistently regressed with the exception of BJT/Nabers which I might add are both all-pro NFL talents
4. Same problems every year. Poor blocking, WR drops galore, soft, WRs consistently drifting into zone coverages unable to read a defense, WRs running into the same area on routes, etc.
5. Rotated WRs almost every play never giving them rhythm which is probably why they dropped so many balls
He was an awful WR coach. Good riddance. We have 2 names under him and that's it. For LSU standards that's awful. Even the portal guys regressed. Anderson didn't even look like he knew how to be a WR how the hell was a freshman All-SEC WR with over 1000 yards that season at Oklahoma? Barrion Brown couldn't catch a cold and his hands were never great but they somehow got worse at LSU? At minimum he was a poor talent evaluator both recruiting and snagging guys out of the portal. Lacy even regressed his final year.
Georgia said the same things we're complaining about with him. Let him go stink Ohio State up. Cya.
