Bullet Proof Vehicles

Any of you OT ballers ever own or driven in a fancy bullet proof vehicle?I'm not talking military, nor blackwater, nor the trucks that pick up money from the casinos.
What kind of car was it, truck, sedan, limo? Could you tell the difference between it an a regular automobile? Did it bring a better feeling of security to you? Was it comfortable? What kind of bullet caliber could it withstand? Could it withstand, say, an RPG hit?
Also, what the hell were you doing in a bullet proof vehicle?

Used to race with a guy that was a member of the royal family for one of the emirates. He was a paranoid coke head so he had one. It was a suburban and it’s obvious once you’re just a few feet away something is different. The windows are off, wheels and tires different. Then when you open the door it feel like it’s full of cement. In the rear it’s totally enclosed and had a secondary escape hatch behind the outer door but kinda created a weird shell. I think that rear part is the safest because he always sat in the back little area.

I'm not trying to be Billy BA but I love how after he shoots a hole in a car window the guy in the background is all "nice shot!" Like it's some amazing feat to hit a car window at 50-100 yards with a 50 cal off a bench. If not for the technically post shot recoil my 5 year old could do that
shite like this drives lack of understanding of firearms and leads to problems when we have a shooting and everyone is all "omg only a special forces navy seal ranger could hit someone at 115 yards with a rifle and scope"
Sorry about the rant

I was about to say the same thing as someone who has fired the original M2. There's a whole lot of lack of knowledge demonstrated there. Did it go all the way through the glass? But did it? That's my favorite question that I heard.

Guy I know has a armored G Wagon. Thing is a tank. Can’t tell by looking at it but when you open the door it is noticeable. Escape hatch, armored engine. I think it set him back 700k.

Was immediately thinking the same thing.

I lift, BJJ and have decent cardio. I also have watched all of DBZ and DBS.
No need for a bullet proof vest or vehicle.

Drove a BMW Protection Pkg 750il.
The BMW 750iL Protection Package (E38 generation) was a factory-armored version of the luxury sedan, featuring heavy ballistic protection like bulletproof glass, armored body panels, run-flat tires, and an intercom system, with some models even including fire suppression and an air filtration system, making it a true security limousine for VIPs, though it added significant weight and compromised handling.

My parents neighbor owned a bunch of little Caesar’s in Mexico and had their main office in Mexico City. They had an armored Jeep they drove around in until the city became too unsafe. They just fly into the airport, do their business at the airport, and fly back out. Then that got too sketchy so they go to a border town, do their meetings there and leave. Still sketchy but he said at least he didn’t have to bribe anyone for a safe space in the USA.
They sold all the pizza places.

Armored 2016 2500 Suburban- Rated Light machine gun fire and explosives.
Armored 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Rated light machine gun fire and explosives- it was so heavy it had to go back to the upfitter for Wilwood brakes so you could actually stop it.
Some raggedy arse Fiat wagon in Brazil. “bulletproof” glass and doors- no idea of the actual level of anything it could stop.
Yes, you can tell- the Suburban glass was over 1” thick and it felt like you were riding in a semi truck because of the mass.
Yes, everyone knows you are riding in a secured vehicle and you are a target in the countries I worked in.
I didn’t like being in them. I started to rent a junky arse whatever in country and just drive myself. I told my customers- “I’ll just follow y’all about 10 vehicles back and when they hit you with an RPG, I’m just gonna turn around and go back to the airport”
The security consultant for the company I was selling to told me “You’re the smartest one here”
TIFWIW.
ETA- biljammin described the Suburban experience to a T.
