I want to trade down for additional capital and then take one of the 4 or 5 tackles that would be there from 10-20.
Move Fuaga to RG and have the best and most athletic OL in the NFL for the next 5 years. This offensive line is youthful and will travel in January.
You guys know how much I heckin love Samoans. All they care about is God, Family, and Football. They are the safest picks. Absolute WARRIORS who play through minor injuries and are tough as nails.
Utah's Spencer Fano next to Fuaga. We will DOMINATE the NFC South for the next 5 seasons.

Delane and Downs are the only realistic chances to draft.
People love Saints winning….
But each win knocks you down the draft order.
Saints currently pick 7th
They will beat the Jets !!
Knocking you FURTHER down the draft order.
Then they can win the game after the Jets !!!!

I don’t like the idea of us constantly trying to make Ts and Cs, guards. But if coaching staff feels Fuaga would do well at G then whatever.

I think Reese and Downs are the best players and if they are there, you almost have to take them.
Since Shough has shown he can be our QB, I think we have to fix our offensive line. If we can’t get Downs or Reese, I’d like Fano or Mauigoa in the first and put them at RT. Move Fuaga to LG, move Ruiz to backup center and sign a FA to play LG. That protects your QB and helps the run game and should creat a huge strength for years.
In the second round, get Boston, Brazzell, Sarratt, Lane or Sadiq as a receiving weapon.
Too bad Bell got hurt, although I’m not sure he’d have been around that late anyway.
Grab a NT in the 3rd or 4th as there’s a few big boys that should go in that range. I’d also wouldn’t overlook a RG if a good one fell that far.

Fuaga was projected to be an elite guard and a mid level tackle coming out of the draft. He had to play LT because Penning was terrible. He got kicked out to RT this year because Penning was still pretty terrible and Banks is a natural LT.
Banks and Fuaga next to each other would be a force IMO. Add in McCoy and that’s a stud side of the OL. Just need to shore up the right side at that point. Hence drafting a RT.

I’m not meaning to argue otherwise but many stated Peat, Ruiz, and Penning would do well at guard and none of them did. Sure Peat played a long time there but he was never better than average. In our 2025 draft threads people were saying Penning would be great at guard, I remember because I was bitching about us not drafting one

Would be fine with any of these as well. Preferably Delane, Downs, Bailey if they’re picking 8-11

No he wasn’t. He got picked that high because he was a highly rated tackle. I think all of his college starts were at RT.
I don’t think there’s any tape of him playing guard. That’s a projection. Would be absolutely retarded to draft yet another tackle and move him to guard. Just draft a guard in the 2nd or 3rd.

Depends where they end up picking
Top 3: Arvell Reese
4-7: Caleb Downs
8-10: Jeremiyah Love
If they end up past 11: Best offensive lineman available

Not sure you could be more wrong. This is what I found after looking for about 5 seconds. It was also mentioned several times during the senior bowl practices and combine coverage.

Overall, Fuaga has the size, power and run-blocking skills to earn a starting role in his first training camp at guard inside a run-first, play-action-based system. He also has enough quickness to play tackle in a pinch.
Draft Network
quote:
Fuaga has enough quickness to play right tackle at the next level. Projects as a starter at both OG and RT. He is an ideal fit for a run-first offense with a play-action passing game. If a team is set at OT, Fuaga could slide into a guard spot to upgrade their offensive line.
Canal Street Chronicles
quote:
Fuaga has the ability to be versatile in what he does as both an offensive tackle and guard, which is something the Saints franchise has valued in years’ past.
PFF
quote:
Ultimately, Fuaga has the tape of a starting NFL offensive lineman, whether that is at tackle or guard. He brings the powerful mentality needed to stand out in the trenches.
He has the adequate length and foot speed, good offensive line IQ and elite strength to succeed at tackle and get a shot there as a first-round pick.

For me anything but an offensive lineman, please.
We need some excitement , and a lineman doesn’t do it
