If you’re interacting on a call or meeting with people outside the company, have your camera on. Nothing is more disrespectful and unprofessional than everyone having their camera on and yours is off esp if speaking or being asked a question. Had a consultant of all people that routinely did this, and finally cut them loose this morning. Work was mediocre at best, but this sent me over the edge. When their company calls and asks for feedback that’s exactly what I’m going to tell them.

Rant over.

Really? Nothing is more disrespectful than that? I can think of a lot of things more disrespectful and unprofessional than that.

Good call out. Group rules. If outside parties or all other cameras on, yours on. Unless you are mobile and on a cell phone for good reason. The constant movement of a cell camera is distracting.

Now internal meetings? Nah I rolled out of bed 5 minutes before and have a hoodie on.

Did you ever talk to the individual about it? If not, bad management.

I mean yeah if I am being paid by a company to consult and the company joins with cameras on, it is pretty dumb to not turn yours on unless on mobile.

No he didn’t, he just let the guy go during Christmas without a warning. This guy has some bad karma coming his way.

90% of these important video meetings could be handled with a phone call. You're not that important hot shot, you did that vendor a favor.

Boomer respect!

I don't give a shite who has their camera on or off. I don't need to see someone's face to interact with them, and it has no bearing on if they do their job or not.

All you idiot arse boomers care about all this stupid ancillary shite instead of getting the work done, that's all that matters. Most inefficient group of people on the planet.

Over their camera being off

Sounds a little unhinged. Especially if all the people in the consultant did this, maybe their IT disabled their cameras etc..

I’m sure the McDonald’s employee that had to explain to you how to fry the French fries over zoom is crushed.
