Someone’s chasing deer off our property with drones.

We have a large tract of land that our family has owned for many years. We have seen and videoed multiple occurrences of drones flying over our property this season. Game camera show deer running away more then we’ve ever noticed in the past. Haven’t been able to get any identification to attempt to identify and haven’t seen anyone operating them within line of sight. LA W&F unable to help so far. Any suggestions appreciated.

12 gauge shotgun 3 inch Double OO buckshot.
When owner shows up after downing, then have him charged with trespassing and wildlife harrassment.

As others have said, I’d absolutely shoot them down.
ETA: have you called the sheriff and asked him about it? Might be illegal flying over your property.

Better be careful.
I thought about shooting one night that zoomed in way too close around midnight sitting on my porch at the ranch. Showed them my butthole instead.
It kept coming back and we finally chased it down and it was border patrol and Texas State troopers outside our gate
I also found a game cam that wasn’t mine so I took it and checked the card. Had a bunch of Nilgai pics on it and some Mexicans in a white F250 that did not look like they should be there. The F-250 was on the neighbors ranch and they crossed the fence to put up the cam so I was pissed.
When I opened the cam they had a stenciled serial number on it so I figured it was probably government property. Couple weeks later they contacted my Uncle and said they were tracking illegals and came and got the cam.

If the LDWF isnt being helpful, it might be theirs. I'd ask them what's the daily limit on drones.

Not unless you want to pay for the drone. Federal law….IF the drone is registered with the FAA.

Seriously.
So I have a friend who operates a drone service. He does ag crops primarily but also does deer and pet recovery.
His drones are licensed with the FAA and he has a professional license in order to fly them.
Without a doubt, if you shoot one of them you’ll be liable for the damage.

Well if your friend tries to crop dust in my white oaks or recover Fido in my pines without asking me, his whirly bird is going to go to Valhalla.

We’ve contacted LA W&F but they need a registration number which is impossible to obtain while they are flying. We know they are not maintaining line of sight which is required unless they have a special license. While I would love to use my duck hunting skills not going that route. I have ordered the equipment that will let me to track the flight path as well as the return to the landing location. Once I have more info will be talking with both W&F as well as LLEA.

Is there a Walmart near by ?
Drones are becoming popular where we live, 3-4 different delivery companies using them.
If not, contact the sheriff's office it's probably some local yahoo.

Deer are likely not being chased off your property. Do you know your neighbors?

Is there not tech yet that can turn people's property essentially a no drone fly zone?? Make them drop right when they hit your property line.
Ones right to privacy on ones property trump's everything imo.

We know all the neighbors including the outside landowners that are trying to buy all the land in the area. No reason to be flying these drones at night over our land including low passes over food plots. I’m not really worried about the deer as the rut is starting and that over rides anything for bucks. We’ve been here a long time and have no intention of ever selling.

Are you in the CWD zone by chance?
