Pluribus has become unwatchable

This last episode was a total disaster. It’s stunning how boring it has become.
Vince Gilligan has jumped the shark with this series.
Here is what thrilling things happened in episode 7 of Pluribus.
I don’t see how these could possibly be ‘spoilers.’
Carol drives to a gas station and makes several meaningless requests by calling on the phone and forcing us to hear the same damn lengthy message over and over and over. And being too stupid to ask them to change the message
After a bunch of wasted boring time she grabs a ton of fireworks.’
She goes home and shoots off some fireworks.
Then she goes to the golf course and plays some golf.
Then when she goes to leave her car won’t start. She picks another car in the parking lot. On the way home she stops for a swim. BTW, singing random songs along the way.
Then she strolls through the Georgia O’Keefe museum still singing and takes an art piece home.
Then she decides to dine out and orders a good meal. Just captivating.
Next scene will deal with a boring series with Manousos.
I think he’s trying to get to America.
He drives and drives and drives while listening to cassette tapes on leaning English. And keeps driving and driving and repeating English phrases.
Comes to end of driving in the jungle. He decides to hike even after being warned by some that he could easily die on the hike but he doesn’t care and he walks and walks and walks repeating over and over……..
“My name is Manousos Oviedo. I am not one of them. I wish to save the world.” It’s to high to count how many times he says this.
Finally he fricks up and gets hurt (naturally) and gets rescued by a helicopter.
Carol tries to commit suicide by firework but of course fails.
The final scene is short but not surprising. Really bad boring episode.

Maybe you should stick to Michael Bay movies?
But I do agree that this last episode dragged quite a bit. I still enjoyed it though...much more than The Fly episode from Breaking Bad.

I forget breaking bad catered to explosions and wham pow enthusiasts

The 2 are meant to juxtapose each other. It shows Carol finally giving in and living the lifestyle all the other survivors are and pretending she likes it until she finally gives up and admits she’s lonely.
Manousos is the opposite. Stubborn to never give in and ask for help he tries to get to America on his own, only to faulter and need help in the end.
Slow? Sure. But I solid episode of character study of our 2 main survivors. And I actually enjoyed Manousos driving South America

She’s a lesbian book writer though that drinks a lot.

I thought it was great. Maybe my favorite episode of the series so far. The speech Manousos gave to the alien invaders in the jungle was a cold slap of reality as to what the stakes really are, even as Carol begins to waver. And him torching his car to prevent them from further stealing from humanity was powerful. I’m really excited for the meeting with Carol that’s coming and where it goes from there.

Based on how they have slow burned the candle on this show, I'm now dreading the language barrier and stubbornness of these two. I mean it should be a pivotal moment in the plot development but I could see an entire episode where she just yells at him for 50 minutes because he can't say anything other than "the dog chased the grey cat".

I guess posting this tight in the main thread was too much for you and it needed a new thread?
It was a slow episode but it's a slow burn show.

When he left I think it was 12 days after the event. When Carol hugged Zosia (sp?) I think it was 48 days or so…don’t remember exactly but roughly a month. I assume he was taken to a hospital and probably learned better English in that time and will show up next episode. Gilligan seems to make the second to last episode a big one and that would be next week so I’m hoping for the big twist or reveal.

I think the issue is, it was guaranteed 2 seasons before even airing. That gave Vince Gillian the go ahead to Vince Gillian the shite out of this lol. If anyone watched better call Saul, this should be at no surprise. I enjoy it but I also expect it.

Fully agree - Love VG but the pace of the last show was dumb.
I want to love this show but I'm not sure if I even like it.
How many seasons are they planning on stretching this drawn out story?

Where is there a Georgia O'Keefe museum?

Was pumped about this show by bailed halfway through E1. Couldn't get into it.

This is going to be one of those shows where the people with short attention spans can't make it through seasons until they are fully released and start drawing more attention and praise.

I disagree. You could say the same thing about Better Call Saul and I put that as one of the goats. People regularly complained how slow and nothing happened in that show.
This show being put in a nomination for Best TV Series for the golden globes is the reason why I don't take those watered down Hollywood award shows serious anymore. They remind me of the Jim Thorpe Award and The Biletnikoff award. Hanging their hats on previous work by the creator.

I think the dog was gray and the cat was yellow but there's no way I'm watching it again to verify that.
