but good God the traffic is horrendous. Is there anywhere is this God-forsaken state that’s livable?!?

If people such as yourself would go back to where you came from, Covington traffic would be better.

Covington is fine for people who can do without culture

I looked at Covington housing prices a while back and was floored. $500-$800k for any decent neighborhood. Who pays that shite to live in f’ing Louisiana?

My grandparents moved to Covington in the mid-90s and it was pretty great into the 2000s. Just looked at the traffic map, holy shite. They open the new bridge over Bogue Falaya yet?

Seems like it should be close to it.
Yeah that spot is real bad.

Covington has the best downtown in the state and no the bridge over the Bogue Falaya River is not finished yet. Moving back in June and building about 2 miles down Lee RD. Moving from Prairieville back home

That's right!
Everyone who got here right after I did needs to go!

Thank you. I'll take that as a personal compliment.
Most of the traffic snarls are actually outside of the city limits (the town is actually small). 12,000 residents but the Cov Post Office serves 60,000 … meaning almost 50,000 people and businesses have Covington addresses that are not actually in the City of Covington. For instance I-12 is not in Covington nor Hwy 190 or Hwy 21 that lead to Covington, but they do have Covington addresses.
Per DOTD the bridge should be finished in the next couple of weeks.
Re: Bear's … best roast beef poboy in S. LA, thus the best in LA, thereby arguably making it the best in world. USA Today named CovLA #5 best small town dining in America. 24 restaurants within 5 block radius of downtown all locally owned (usually with an owner in the kitchen). No franchises or chains in that #.
And if you can't get there in your golf cart you probably don't want to go.

I assume it is bad, but this time of year will be the absolute worst.

How much was your house on wheels to live in the Texas ghetto?
Posted on 12/11/25 at 6:01 pm to yaboidarrell
Have money. Live in Covington city limits. Get a golf cart. Never leave city limits during traffic hours. Live the dream. Repeat.

Best of luck on the move. Glad to have you back.
