"Warnecke, whose son Axel survived the birth, had opted for a freebirth, which is when a family chooses to have a baby at home without help from a medical professional, such as a doctor or a midwife, according to the ABC."

Ellyard told the court that Warnecke hadn't trusted the medical system after the Covid vaccine mandates in 2021, the Herald Sun noted, so she opted not to receive healthcare during her pregnancy. "

Warnecke established herself online by promoting a toxin-free lifestyle and using natural ingredients. She first launched her company, Natural Spoonfuls, in 2019, and she continued to partner with food brands and share original recipes. Warnecke also built following of thousands on Instagram, where she would post some of her culinary creations."

This part isn’t as crazy as they want it to be.

Even the ancient ancestors had help in childbirth from knowledgeable women.

There's a wide spectrum between an over medicalized birth and squatting in a rice paddy.

I think when it comes to childbirth, it's still pretty crazy.

As a former hospital worker, it can happen. You have a chance of surviving if you have a medical community helping you.

Having a birth at home isn't the crazy decision here

The problem with this type of thing is that childbirth can go bad for baby or mother very quickly, even in the healthiest patients. The vast majority of births probably don’t need to be attended by any medical professionals, but you can’t ever really know when things will turn south.
Without having any details other than that she bleed to death, I’d imagine this death was almost 100% preventable.
Oh well, FAFO.

I completely understand the lack of trust in medical industry but come on lady. In a true life or death situation, they increase your survival odds by 99.95%

Unfortunately these things do happen. I'm sure everyone wishes she would have been in a hospital, but even then, things can go wrong quickly. We had a friend that we lost on her 6th child in the hospital due to post birth hemorrhage.
Our church organization still prays in her honor.

What a idiotic and preventable tragedy.

If only she knew that before modern medicine, Hemorrhage during childbirth was the #1 cause of early death in women

the same belief that directly led to her death? sounds crazy

Im assuming she skipped all of her check ups that may have revealed any caution signs. Is it because her old doctors were in on the COVID death shot?

completely preventable deaths

I think that's what it said... sad choice. She could have found a crunchy midwife to keep at least a basic eye on her pregnancy. Probably wouldn't have prevented a post birth catastrophic hemorrhage, but still.

My parents used a midwife for one of my sisters. Any EMT-Basic could pull it off. But, someone that doesn't know how to check for airway obstructions, identify normal bleeding and discharge from "oh shite" bleeding... No.
