I prefer Courier New but I will take Times New Roman.

Not that I really care but as far as wasteful, a sans-serif font uses less toner or ink than Times New Roman.

"wasteful" is used loosely in the article. Like it a "waste" of a font.

"To restore decorum and professionalism to the Department’s written work products"

TNR is way better than Calibri as far as that goes. I'm down for a little beauty in this world.

This is the first time I've ever heard TNR be described as beautiful in my life I think

I will stand by this statement:

Serif fonts have small decorative strokes or extensions at the ends of letters, giving them a more classical, formal, and traditional appearance. Examples include Times New Roman, Georgia, and Garamond.
Sans-serif fonts lack these extensions, offering a cleaner, simpler, and more modern look. Examples include Arial, Helvetica, and Calibri.

Georgia and Garamond are in completely different classes than TNR

That's the main reason that sans-serif fonts are used for accessibility reasons. Serif fonts can be more difficult for people with vision problems to read.

I think it's a negligible difference but that's why you see sans-serif at your bigger organizations.

I think they should all be required to use Wingdings.

If you got those deep state spirit cookers again, they might try to use Hell-vetica. We should just have one big beautiful font that we make as the official font of America

I prefer Calibri on Times New Roman. It is easier to read.

Isn't it absurd that the hysteria over DEI has infected the choice of fonts?
Secretary Rubio doesn't have a better use for his time?

Also, Sans-serif is easier to read on a screen. Serif is easier on paper. At least that is what we were told in Comp Sci.

I thought Biden’s State Department preferred comic sans.
