Two weeks in Ireland

Will be going in May or June. 4 nights in Dublin with day trips on coaches to Wicklow/Gendalough and Newgrange. 2 nights in Kilkenny. 2 nights in Cork with day trips to Cobh and Kinsale. 1 night in Doolin for Cliffs of Moher. Then 2 nights in Galway.
I’ve had people say less time in Dublin, more in Galway. And I’m wondering if trying to get to both Cobh and Kinsale takes too much time from Cork itself.
Will be taking busses and trains. I’m not driving on the wrong side of a 10’ wide road sitting on the wrong side of the car hoping I can drive a stick after 40 years!

They're right to say less time in Dublin. "Takes too much time?" Dude, you can drive from Galway to Dublin in about as much time as it takes me to get to Lake Charles from Houston. But you chose a bus loaded with old farts that wander around aimlessly. Not sure what you expected, but that's what you signed up for. Driving on the left isn't hard, there's even a reflective sticker on the dash of most rentals to remind you what side to drive on. The only driving problem is sheep when you start to go North of Galway into the hills. Sometimes they escape and are standing in the road.
Your journey is going to be much more complicated catching coaches and the limited trains, and you're going to be robbed of freedom to visit Roscommon, Kylemore Abbey, and the hundreds of things you'll speed by that look interesting.
You're wasting a ton of time not using a car. Moher is doable as a half day trip from Galway, etc. That said, two weeks in ROI is plenty. The smaller the town you stay in, the better experience you'll have. You have also chosen to hit peak tourist season, rather than the 3rd week of May, when hotel costs are 1/2 of tourist season, and the all the sites you are trying to visit aren't jammed full of .... tourists.

My car was automatic and you get used to the left side very fast. Roads can get tight in the countryside but you will make do.
Pick a few things to do in Dublin for two days then only go back for your flight home.

I agree. Driving on the left and the round abouts is pretty easy to pick up. Just obey the speed limit signs within the towns. You can see more of Ireland that way and on your schedule. And drop a night Dublin and add one to Galway. I still miss their music in the pubs.

I like Kilkenny, but it can be done as a day trip from Dublin by train or a one night stopover on your way to the west. I enjoyed Dublin and think it's worth more time than most people recommend. You can also use it as a base for day trips.
I would do Killarney instead of Cork. Killarney was my favorite stop. You can use it as a base for the Ring of Kerry, Dingle, and a few other places. Not sure about getting to Kinsale from there.
Having a car gives you more freedom but I understand the hesitation. I saw some roads that I was glad I wasn't driving on. The actor Matthew Broaderick killed two people driving on a country road there after he made Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I chose to use busses and trains and was able to easily see everything I wanted to see. One trick I used was to book guided day tours and then I just got off at the last stop so it was a means of transportation as well as sightseeing. For example I booked a day tour out of Dublin that went to Rock of Cashel, Barney Castle and Cork. Rather than return to Dublin, I just brought my suitcase in the tour bus and hopped off at Cork without returning to Dublin with the rest of the group.

Tons of threads on here about Ireland
Quick Hitters:
Less time in Dublin is better, more time in Galway and Dingle
Get out into the country towns, Irish people love the craic
Get a car, an automatic. You are doing a huge disservice if you don't
Drive the Slea Head drive, it is prettier than Hwy 1 in Cali
