Sounds like Kiffin was being considered for LSU job for THIS season

The way I read this and it is according to Ed Orgeron, so take it for what it is worth even if I'm interpreting this right, Lane Kiffin was being considered for the LSU job BEFORE this season. He asks Orgeron LAST year what he thought of the LSU job which sounds like to me he had been contacted.

Pretty sure he misspoke and is referring to when Lane was considering leaving for Auburn 3 years ago.

Ok, that makes more sense, but the other poster who obviously has had a bad day said I didn't read well. Orgeron said "last year" so I guess the other poster needs to buy a calendar. I said in the OP I was saying that you have GUESS to trust Orgeron at what he said was accurate. Obviously, he misspoke as you said.

I wouldn't trust Ed's timelines. He lives in the moment.
He also speaks in a way that is hard to follow if you've moved on to another time frame or still talking about the same time.

Certainly agree with that however in this article it talks about LSU specifically. “But he had called and he said, ‘What do you think about LSU?’ And I gave him nothing but great reviews. And it never came through, like he never called me and said you want to come?"
But yeah, I don't think too many people thought Ole Miss would be his final destination. Some of the people who know him has said they think Alabama will be his final stop in college since he admires Saban so much.

He didn't misspeak; the article is just written poorly. In one paragraph he is discussing Lane calling him for a different job last year and in the next he is discussing the LSU opening this year. You just have to comprehend it a little better. When discussing the job last year he said he told Lane he wasn't ready to go back to coaching when Lane asked. Then in the next paragraph when discussing the LSU job he said Lane never asked even though he said Lane knew he was planning on going back and coaching.

Where is everyone coming up with Auburn for Lane Kiffin? I have seen that in 0 articles and I have read a bunch. The 4 schools that he supposedly considered were staying at Ole Miss...going to LSU....going to Florida...and the more unknown one to most until recently was Florida State. So where Auburn is coming from, I don't know.
And just my opinion but if Alabama is really his first school of choice which several of his close friends say is REALLY his #1 SEC choice, why in the world would he even dream of going to Auburn which has been a dumpster fire for years.
