ESPN SVP Bad Beats

I always enjoy this segment. Other than live sports, one of the few things that I watch on ESPN.
Routinely….it’s obscure college games that no one cares about.
Isn’t it curious how they always avoid the NFL and major college football games?

I was on the good side of the bad beat for Ohio State when they beat Northwestern. After Northwestern kept lateraling the ball all the way into Ohio State's endzone where the Buckeyes fell on it to cover the spread with no time left on the clock. It's on SVPs bad beats video reel. It's a great reminder of money I found in the street on that bet that was dead in the water.

This reaction from Portnoy is priceless!!
He is 100% correct. That entire situation should be investigated. The entire sequence is very very very suspect.
This is what happens when you embrace the gambling industry. Officiating was always a problem. Now you have serious issues.

I really don't think it's that deep or that serious. Ridiculous to react this way. This is the risk you take when you gamble.
Good on Pete for taking the points. Needed two scores even with no time left. Brandon Jones didn't have to do that. Tacky call, but not a big deal.

Portnoy needs to have the shite kicked out of him. Cannot stand that guy.

I watched last night expecting to see the Raiders game in there, but that must be part of the deal with the NFL. Don’t publicize things like that to add fuel to the rigged theories.

It couldn’t have happened to a bigger a-hole. He gets what he deserves

What I find interesting is now the gambling is more available and more people are doing it, now all of the games in whatever sport are rigged.
I also think it pitiful to blame anyone other than yourself when you lose a bet. You placed the bet.

There’s 136 FBS teams plus another 129 in the FCS. So around 75% of those games will be obscure games that nobody watches outside of alums of those schools.
I think its just more to do with the law of averages. There’s a lot more obscure college games than there are NFL or major college games. More obscure games = more chances for a few of those games to have some fluke play at the end cause a bad beat

The underlying premise of bad beats is that there are enough degenerate gamblers out there that these obscure games would get action.

Coaches, especially in college, play to cover all the time
Mark stoops was the king of it.
Sucks if you had Denver but there is nothing illegal about kicking a FG down 10 with no time left.
