Wasn’t having the best Sunday, but watched this flick. First time I laughed all day. Hollywood can't ever make movies like this.

Movies like Home Alone and Planes, trains, and automobiles always hit differently for me. Whenever I watch them I realize how often I take the great parts of my life for granted.

Both are John Hughes films.

Oh yeah, I know. Just speaks to the content of the movies though. Uncle Buck is another one. John Candy was incredible.

Shamefully already indulged I’m watching it on a plane last week. Usually like to save it for closer to Christmas, but needed the same holiday spirit uplifting. Although, the more and more I watch it, the less I find myself on Kevin’s side, and the more I find myself on The Wet Bandits’ side.

I was watching this last night for the first time in a long time and I just realized that the dad called and left a voicemail on the neighbors machine...why the hell didn't they ever call the freaking house??? Kevin ordered a pizza so the phones were working then.

Still a great movie.

I’m sure a remake is in the works with Kevin being a transgender minority making fools out of white ICE agents.

Apparently the cast and crew were just laughing as he was going on in the van, especially about this bit pure gold from Candy.

John Hughes single handedly made me want to live in the Chicago area. Knowing now how crappy Chicago is that was quite impressive on his part.

There is a scene where Kevin panics in the store and shoplifts a $3 toothbrush. It caused a chase scene from store stock boy and then included cops chasing Kevin through the city.

Imagine that in 2025

I mean it's no Christmas vacation as far as uplifting and funny and it doesn't even come close.

The church scene is serious movie magic. It'd be an Oscar-worthy short film on its own.

Same for me. I watched the movie when I was 11 years old or so and this made me want to go to Chicago. Fast forward to after college and a buddy of mine moved there and I went to visit him. Lived the city so much that decided to move there a few years later. Ended up living there for 10 years! Visited Winnetka many times around Christmas time which is where their movie was filmed.
