Every other team understands that their best chance to win was to keep their current coach throughout the playoffs and let him try to lead the team.

Ole Miss is the only team that was so butt hurt on losing a coach that they are going to shoot themselves in the foot, possibly, in the second round by not having their HC

Yeah. Their AD big mad at Lane & LSU for poaching him. LOL.

Lane was sweet enough to let Charlie Weiss coach the playoff for OM. Big of him with how Ole Miss AD treated him

Which translated to landing a wavering 5-star and keeping our DC. Yes, Ole Miss was dumb. But they'll get no complaints from me.

So you think if the roles were reversed LSU would allow it?

When the dust settles, the OM fans are going to realize Keith Carter allowed LSU to get Kiffin with a few days to work on early signing period and plenty of time to focus on portal. He also made a rash decision in making Golding the permanent HC for Ole Miss. Maybe Golding works out, but I’ll be surprised. My guess is this time next year their fans will be calling for Carters job.

My sources at Ole Miss say it went ahead and hired Golding as permanent head coach so it would not get dropped in rankings or out of playoff. Committee wanted to see stability.

Once the season is over and the Ole Miss boosters and fans start to calm down they will begin to ask how Keith Carter let the hottest coach in the country walk out and take half of his staff with him.

This was a complete failure on Keith Carters part to let this situation occur.

Ole Miss potentially gets 2 teams they’ve already played this season to compare results of a Golding coached team vs a Kiffin coached team:

Tulane, Kiffin won by 35
UGA, Kiffin lost by 8

Not very meaningful, but interesting.

Why do we keep complaining about that? Kiffin is all in on 2026 instead of game planning for Tulane. Hell, he isn’t even coaching LSUs bowl game.

This cant be said enough. Not only did they let us have what we wanted but gave him to us at the max best possible time.

If he was still coaching OM in the Playoffs we probably would not have half a staff, Baker and company likely gone, and recruiting class possibly a lot less than we got.

It will be funny when Tulane plays OM and the media makes the point that Sumrall is still coaching Tulane but Lane not allowed to coach OM

Yep, and to complete ESPNs nauseating coverage, every one of those coaches are being slopped up and dickrode as some kind of hero. GMFB

Not really…they all lost their coach to a superior team and organization.

Since 2000, LSU leads this series 18-8 with almost 50% of the ole miss victories coming under CLK in the last 6 years.

In that time frame Ole Miss won in BR just twice with the last being in 2008.

STFU with this is different. Ole Miss hasn’t been shite until CLK came around and the record speaks for itself over the last 25 years.

Ole Miss has little brother syndrome, OM holding onto Kiffin would have kept him from building his recruiting class and coaching staff at LSU during a crucial time that will only benefit LSU. Any players that leave Ole Miss to follow are leaving regardless if Kiffin stayed.

This was stupid AF on OM part.

And the talking heads all say it was Lane being self centered and only caring about himself and if you are a parent, why would you let your kid go to LSU and play for him… the hypocrisy is laughable

The Ole Miss AD sounds like a very little man with a fragile ego. I'm sure his scorched earth moves were design to make coach look bad.

Ole Miss needs to understand its place. James Madison does. Tulane does.

And I believe 5 different coordinators who are taking head jobs will be coaching in playoffs.
