Along with LSU, Ole Miss and Florida- the fourth team that was seriously courting Lane …

Im seeing reported that the fourth team courting Lane, and that he actually considered- was UCLA… it makes sense, they have a TON of $$.. and Lane was a west coast guy before.. obvs he really likes the SEC life now.. but yeah i too woulda thought the fourth team was FSU or PSU.. now we know .

There’s multiple articles out there stating the team was indeed FSU

Apparently that’s false .
The most recent intel confirms it was ak-shu-all-ee UCLA.. no link, sorry, but im sure it’ll come out in the next day or two.. btw it makes zero difference, since CLK is now the HC at LSU.. just morbid curiosity i guess .

I read somewhere it was Florida State, which is why it was so quiet because they haven’t fired Norvell yet

Multiple reputable outlets reported FSU. UCLA is a dumpster fire. I don’t see him even interested in that.

Dumpster fire programs are usually the ones looking for a new head coach .
Im not saying 100% it’s true.. and maybe FSU was very interested in him.. but what ive heard in the last few hours on a couple different podcasts is that there were only four that Lane explored and even entertained at all- and besides the three we all know about, certain “in the know” folks are saying it was the Bruins …. Again, to me it makes sense in a ‘dark horse’ sort of way since they have very deep pockets, and are located on the west coast .

As i mentioned in my post upthread, it’s mostly just post-mortem stuff .
Besides, many of the thread im seeing on the Coaching Changes board ‘dont matter’ too much - i took a look just now and there are threads on the front page about Hoodies and about how annoying Tulane fans are .

3-4 weeks ago there was a Sunday where everyone thought Norvell was getting fired. Then two days later they announced he was getting another year.
I’m willing to bet they inquired about Kiffin then saw the numbers UF, Ole Miss and LSU were throwing around and said “frick that”.

UCLA might've been in it but the 4th team was definitely FSU. It was reported they were back channeling Kiffin for awhile. Even Ole Miss insiders were adamant about it and it definitely makes sense.
