Unbelievable. SMU had two losses by a total of 6 points including one to a playoff team in #13 Clemson and the other to #17 BYU.

Bama lost by 3 TDs in the conference title game and by two TDs to a 7 loss FSU.

Sorry, but those scenarios are nothing comparitively speaking.

Also, everyone last year was arguing for SMU to be put out because of the loss and they were kept in because it was such a close loss.

Miami and ND, as much as I hate it, should both be in over Bama.

Was pretty shocked he comped Bama to SMU last year. Not even remotely the same

It’s fair to argue that Bama shouldn’t be in, but McElroy was pretty adamant SMU should stay over Bama last year, so I think it’s just his consistent opinion - not a homer take.

The melt when Bama makes it is going to be glorious. All that joy that L7-5U felt hiring Kiffin is starting to fade off and reality is setting in.

ESPN is shitting itself over the prospect of having 3 small regional fan bases in the playoff JMU is too new to have one, Tulane is a small private school, and even though Miami has some name recognition they are a small private school too and have nowhere near the fans their rep would make you believe they have. Then you add in Indiana who probably doesn't have all that big of a fanbase outside of their state, Tech who most of their fans live in DFW but aren't even top 3 in the area, and they are looking dead in the eyes of a ratings catastrophe.

Which has nothing to do with this year. SMU lost by 3 in their conference title game and 3 in their lone other loss to another ranked team.

Bama has 3 losses by a combined 37 points including to a 5-7 FSU by 14. Slight difference between those scenarios.

What melt? Most of use are expecting the stupidity of the committee and know how this bs works. Doesn’t mean we can’t still call out the BS and teams that get special treatment.

Well it is ESPN....

You know the same Network that shamelessly lobbied for Alabama to get a do-over against #1 LSU while calling Okie State's blowout victory in the Big12 Title game.

And the same Network that created the "eye-test" whenever Bama's Resume sucked.

ESPN has been an arm and partner and conflict of interest shill of the SEC and their top dog during Saban's run and it continues.

“Notre Dame would beat Miami if they played again, and Notre Dame is the better team but they can’t be in over Miami”

He’s such a fricking chode. I get he went to Bama but he should be embarrassed for how unobjective he was being.

Bama isn’t even a rival of LSUs much less a permanent opponent.

As a South Carolina fan you are irrelevant in every single men’s sport

Stop projecting and relax loser

But they made a comeback. Bama couldn’t even score without the officials giving them like 40 penalty yards in a drive.

Alabama has zero reasons to be in this playoff.

Miami should be in. And, screw the idea of the committee throwing a bone to the ACC. It’s a garbage football conference and can’t wither off the vine fast enough.

And what was SMUs SOS last year? Did they previously beat Clemson on the road? How many ranked teams did they beat?

I also love people saying McElroy is biased as if you’re not.

If Bama is out the message is crystal clear. DO NOT EVER schedule anything OOC away from home or against any P4 conference team and avoid the CCG.

Or if you aren’t looking at it through crimson tinted crystal the message is “don’t lose to a 5-7 team, then lose a second time, and then get your arse kicked a third time by what you call your best win.”
