Never did Christmas weekend, but have done NYE several times. Weekends can get hectic with the local crowd trying to get minute trips before the park closes for the season. But the crowds were great during the week; especially if it was a drizzly day.

Getting VIP parking is a must. Don’t have to try to pack into one of the shuttles if you plan to close the park down.

Great family atmosphere. A lot to do for all ages. Family friendly shows for short breaks.

For an amusement park, the prices were very reasonable. Been a few years, but pretty sure you can check pricing for everything (including food) online

We went several years ago over Thanksgiving weekend. It was very nice. The lights were up and they did religious shows.
We loved that it was so relaxing compared to Disney.

Thanks.

Dollyworld is great. Awesome rides more family friendly and likely the best food of any theme park.
Christmas they have it decorated really well plus that whole area has a lot to do for Christmas. But it's more crowded.

Was there last year between Christmas and New Year. It was great, lots of people, but never felt over crowded. Had a really good time there.

Went to Gatlinburg for a day and felt over crowded, but still had a good time.

Lots in that area.

I went to Gatlinburg during "hell" week (week between Christmas and NYE) and I will never go back during that time.

Went to Dollywood a few days after Christmas; it was around 35 degrees, and 80% of the rides were not operating because they cannot operate when the steel is at a specific temperature.

Just went the Monday of Thanksgiving week and it was absolutely packed. The lights were nice. We bought the fast pass and it was well worth it to skip a lot of the lines. It thinned out from 6 - 9 pm and we were able to ride any ride we wanted.

We stayed at a condo on the Little Pigeon River close to Dollywood a couple of Christmases ago. They had a great fireworks show every night we were there, except the night it snowed a lot. You'll need to get up early to go get breakfast in Pigeon Forge because every joint is packed by 730. Gatlinburg will be super busy so give yourself some time to find a parking spot.

Should be beautiful and festive, but I remember being there one year for an LSU-Tennessee game around Halloween when all of the pumpkins were out and it was freezing cold.
