My heart tells me I want this very badly, but my brain tells me 1) he’s probably got a career in the NFL and 2) there are better options more experienced in the college level

If he didn’t play for LSU would you want him? Our fan bases infatuation with thinking we should hire people just because they played here is goofy.

I get the school spirit and being committed to your university, but that doesn’t always check the box of being a good coach.

Sheppard is one of my all-time favorite tigers. And if it did happen, I definitely wouldn’t complain. In fact, I would be extremely happy. Do I see it happening for the reasons I said before, no.

Too soon to roll the dice on KS. 1st year DC for a head coach that is running that defense.

DC is CLK’s most important hire. Go get someone with experience running a defense.

Agreed… if he was coming to be the head coach or head coach in waiting…then maybe def not DC to DC though

You mean like Saban not going from NFL HC to college HC?

He’d probably think about it if you doubled his Lions salary of $800k

Actually Dan Campbell was a tight end coach with the Saints before he got the Lions HC job. He also played tight end.

And what side of the ball do you think tight end is part of?

Shep isn’t coming to be DC. He wanted HC. He’s NFL.
